My understanding of the technology is that it does not do anything related to behavioral modification in its current state.

But let's say that one day it does become capable of behavioral modification and it can also impose impulse control.

Now suppose that children at an early age are identified as potentially problematic maybe future criminals.
In a future with this type of technology these children could be implanted and their behavior modified so that they are completely socialized against violent acts.

If it comes about in the future that such technology exist and it would bring violent acts to near zero, should it be used?

No, because the government wouldn't stop there and would use it for nefarious purposes.

Goodness what a terrible idea. Most likely it would end up being taken over to program people to do more stuff like this

You want the same doctors who have over prescribed every damn drug they've ever gotten their hands on to be able to do shite like this?

How much do you trust the medical field?

Id rather live in a world with risks and strife than one with brain chips and behavioral controls and mind reading.

Mk Ultra?
I mean if it can modify behavior for good it would be able to do the opposite, right?

But it won't be.

Just like AI somewhere in some country someone on the planet is going to develop this tool whether we like it or not.

It scares the hell out of me. For the most part it would be a technological lobotomy except that the subject would be able to function, hold down a job, and be productive.

Dems would win every election 538-0 as soon as this is implemented.

They already essentially consider it criminal / treasonous to vote in your best interest over theirs as politicians

Try to think positively. Maybe they will use AT&T's network and the feed will frick up half the time, shutting down the droids.

Part of government job is to sort out differences.

If there were no differences to sort out would we really need a Congress?
