I remember in the early days of this board, leftists would tell you repeatedly that the media wasn’t biased. Now the left knows the media is biased and want to shut down any media that goes against them.

This would go both ways. Certainly the left is more outrageous than the right.

But…I’m in favor of stopping obvious and deliberate lies with the intent to cause some type of harm. It would have to be worded the correct way and sadly, I doubt our lawmakers or the president’s staff can do so.

She’s 98% correct. I’m not sure I agree on covering “influencers”. I’d have to see the way the law was constructed. MSM straight up lie just for ratings and need to be held accountable.

Once upon a time, when my dad was a journalist, it was dishonorable to slant the truth - journalists were supposed to articulate facts. Now, it’s about clicks or ratings - who cares what is said or the harm it does?? If there is a way to do what she suggests (I’m envisioning lines of lawyers taking cases into courthouses….), then let’s do it!
