I’m in search of the best potato peeler

Peeling potatoes is the bane of my existence. I have an admittedly, irrational hatred of peeling potatoes.
So friends, if anyone has a peeler that you think is great, please share it here.
I realize that there might not be one that’s significantly better than average but it’ll make me sleep better knowing I asked the fine folks of the F&DB.
TIA

My wife is not available unless you’ll pay $50+ an hour

OXO Good Grips has never done me wrong when it comes to things like that. They have the Y shaped one and the traditional straight one, which I prefer. I also really like their can opener, pizza cutter, and kitchen shears. They've all been reliable for me.

About 15 yrs. ago when one of our nephews was in college he fell for he "Sell Cutco Cutlery" thing and came over to do a presentation. I'm the cook and have all the knives I need or want and know how to keep them razor sharp so I wasn't really much interested.
The wife, on the other hand decided to spring for 3 items, the peeler, pizza cutter and a cheese knife. We still have all 3 and they do work very well. I've probably peeled a thousand of pounds of potatoes, carrots, beets and turnips over the years with the peeler and it is still very sharp and my go-to for peeling.

Irration or service induced. How many times did you pull KP in the Army?
My KP experience was that potatoes went through a power peeler that rasped off the skin. All that was left to do was remove any eyes by hand. LINK

We bought a three-pack of Kuhn Rikon Y shaped peelers years ago for about $10 at Tuesday Morning. They still work great and as good as anything I’ve ever used.

All the potato peelers I’ve tried over the years, the old school style one is still the best. The ergonomics are very good and you can almost peel a potato with one hand.
I think the most people that have issues using it aren’t actually using it correctly. A lot of people will wrap their entire hand around it when really it should sit cupped in your upper hand and your thumb should be free.

quote:I've been using these for the better part of +20 years. They're cheap & effective. Bought my first one from Williams-Sonoma back in 2003 for $4.95. On my current one that was purchased 4 or 5 years ago. The carbon steel blade responds well to honing. Highly recommend.
Twenty 49: Kuhn Rikon Y shaped peelers... 3pk for $10

What makes this different from any other one?

This is the one you want. You can get it on Amazon too. Original Swiss made and the one everyone tries to replicate but can’t. Try this one and you’ll be v v happy

If you look carefully, you can see that he held one potato back, the one he filmed that with.

It's extremely sharp and self sharpening. Makes peeling a breeze.
