So Crooks in Butler and now Robinson in Utah have been attributed to Discord server use in relation to their radicalization and possibly assassination prep. There a bunch of Antifa servers on there as well.

At what point does the government use its considerable leverage to get into these servers? Why wouldn’t all this fall under RICO with all of the rioting and planned demonstrations, and now assassinations and attempts.

EDIT: I am talking about criminal investigation not monitoring or eliminating Discord. Warrants with PC, etc.

EDIT 2: RICO is a US federal criminal statute that requires due process, investigations, and a trial.

Discord/skype/groupme/etc are all just platforms. If people started getting arrested for their discord chats a hundred clones would pop up tomorrow

I'd rather my government not be involved in private conversations, and if you cracked down on discord, something else would quickly replace it.

We need to treat the disease and stop treating the symptoms.

Well I hope nothing happens to Discord because I actively use it for my job - Several rooms have been very helpful and I have never once heard of any threats, etc because we are discussing web design building, seo, etc

My point is that Discord is a very helpful tool and I would be pissed if this soy boy pussy scumbag piece of shite was the reason I could no longer use that service

Discord is the disease. This is the symptom.

Right but with a warrant and PC then they should have access to any conversation that was involved in these events. I’m not talking about nanny state monitoring, I’m talking about an investigation.

Discord is literally just a chat room. It is only what people use it for that make it anything.

People are the disease in your scenario. Specifically, those people. Millions of other people use it for completely innocuous reasons

The cops monitor phones with warrants all the time, why would Discord be different? It’s not going away but it is clearly an instrumentality of a couple of serious crimes.

this is exactly the justification Europe is using to read every encrypted messaging app.

And Discord is not one of those apps.

Not if they aren't profitable. No one wants to deal with the amount of servers and pay the outrageous amounts to cloud providers to run that. Especially if they could be held liable for something. Not saying there would be nothing but it would just push alot of this shite to the dark web.

There is evidence of both assassins using the app, why don’t you want to know who they were talking to? Don’t you think they coordinated knowledge and/or resources? No one is talking FISA, this is a damn murder investigation! There is more than enough PC to get a warrant.

After the Antifa/BLM riots, arson, looting and attacks on government property, they need to be investigated in depth. There's plenty of probable cause for warrants and they are guilty of many crimes.

We should definitely beg daddy government for more spying on our communications. We have already ripped the 4th amendment to shreds so WTH.

So we should respect Robinson’s privacy for his phone and personal computer as well? And who said anything about avoiding the 4th amendment? Conduct the investigation the right way and his rights are protected.

Until someone pushed to this point (via same or similar wild west platform) in your town and sets up a sniper’s nest - where you and yours might be in the crosshairs.

Thanks for adding this. It did come off as “govern me harder, daddy” at first.

Let me get this straight, are you advocating for shutting down the anonymous message board discord on a different anonymous message board?

Are people now satisfied that Crooks acted alone? I find it hard to believe, but I haven’t heard anything about that in a while. I have the same suspicions about the Kirk murder.
