With defenses playing two deep to minimize longer pass routes, we have to get better play from our TE's. Blocking, pass route running, and catching passes is average or below so far. This has to improve to help both running and passing game.

Bauer Sharp | 6-4, 253 | Senior

'25 Stats: 2 games (127 snaps); 6 catches for 28 yards

'25 PFF Grades: Total: 40.7 (Poor); Route Running: 37.4 (Very Poor); Hands: 53.8 (Below Average); Run Blocking: 53.9 (Below Average)

That might prove a bit difficult since we are putting a backup in the 2nd TE slot.
Hopefully someone steps up, but I'm not well-versed on our TE depth.

Green is not a TE. He loses blocking battles to small DBs. Just let him split out and torture them, trying to prevent him from catching jump balls.

Sharp is servicable, but his seven targets against Clemson were excessive. Too many weapons on this team for that to happen.

Green has looked alright as a blocker in limited snaps.

Let's face it. The TE room is average at best right now at LSU.

Sharp has been disappointing.

I really believe he will get better with a few more games under his belt.

Bauer Sharp will become more and more of a weapon as the season progresses. He's a big, athletic dude.

I believe we'll start to use Harlem Berry more in the passing game, too. He's too dynamic to keep off the field.

Being without Green isn't ideal but we have personnel to mask that. Maybe we even see Lafleur in for some size.

It would look a lot bigger compared to the micro wedge you are trying to put in it.

Thanks for mentioning LaFleur. I was wondering if he was going to redshirt this season or what.

I think a redshirt is still probable.

We all miss Mason Taylor.

Well maybe we should put this micro wedge you're talking about and her arse side-by-side so it looks bigger.

After game 1, I was down voted into oblivion when I posted it felt like the offense missed what Mason Taylor contributed.

I stand by it. He was a pretty steady security blanket for Nuss underneath with a nose for the sticks. So far Green nor Sharp have consistently replicated what Taylor did.

One of the odd points of TDG geting hurt and likely not playing much or at all means that we will be playing Bauer Sharp more as receiver and Donovan Green as a blocker more and kinda more as a traditional 2 TE lineup. Will be curious how that looks

I would think we see less 12 personnel than we saw with Green. I’m sure we won’t completely abandon it, but I think it becomes a tougher trade-off without Green on the field.

Definitely will change up the running game and pass pro. Will be curious if our WR mix is different.
