Anyone getting Borderlands 4?

I was a big Borderlands fan, but the story in 3 was just so awful i'm torn on getting 4. It sounds like they toned down a lot of the crap that made 3 annoying at least. I didn't even realize it launched Friday until today.

I downloaded 3 the other day and played for an hour or so. I came away thinking I MIGHT be interested in 4, but I have to wait to see the reviews on the writing. Not necessarily the story, but the general jargon and how annoying everyone is.
I love playing 3, everything else needs to shut up. I saw a gameplay preview and on the surface it definitely seemed scaled back, but I'll wait and see.

Recently upgraded my pc and I needed something new to mess around with.
I like borderlands well enough despite it becoming somewhat formulaic and stale.
Think I will give the tediore vault hunter a shot this time around.

i picked it up on steam preorder because I am weak and a part of the problem, but also had some steam wallet money sitting there. i just got the base game, so hopefully it's not a total disaster at launch.

3 was so bad that I said I was done with the series for good...but apparently 4 is a massive corrected and they're basically retconning 3 out of existence. They know how badly they fricked it up

I've enjoyed all the Borderlands games and will play BL4 at some point. They're going for more of an open world approach this time so that will be different at least.

Borderlands 2 is one of my top 10 games so I'm probably going to get it. I'll wait for the day one reviews just to make sure it's not an absolute turd. Hopefully there's some good skins because I don't like any of the new vault hunter designs.

knoxx dlc in 1 is still some of the most fun i've ever had in a game.

1 had some great DLC. The end of Knoxx was classic.
I'm seeing the current metacritic is around 84. What I'm reading is promising, scaled back the chatter, but the game isn't much of a departure. Fun but not super imaginative open world.
ETA Just saw they're still doing shift codes. Dev, do you remember that site we had bookmarked that posted all the shift codes for BL2 that had been released up until that point? I think we ended up with a backlog of over 100 of them

Just give me more borderlands 1 and 2 and I'm happy. I will say the movement and gunplay in 3 was very smooth. Just the story and everything else was bleh

I installed it from the steam app at work. Unfortunately I've got the kids tonight as my wife has an event. Watched a little on twitch today in between meetings, it looks like borderlands but without playing who knows

This isn't a problem. I like their formula and want more of it. Madden and COD don't make major changes from game to game and no one complains about that.

i put 3 down very fast. i am still interested in this, Tiny Tina's stand alone game was pretty fun. i assume alot of same talent worked on that?

Seems like this game is running like arse on PC. Nothing I've seen from videos really makes this game look that much different visually from BL3 but it will run at half the framerate because the devs want to automate some lighting effects I guess
