“Tbh” and “I’m not going to lie” are being used now as introductory phrases to give emphasis. They came into usage to qualify statements of modesty. For example, “I’m not going to lie, I was scared.” Unfortunately, they have become bad habits of speech, like using “literally” to mean “not literally”, that just litter our language.
