I was at that interview (we escaped heavy gunfire, running to shelter from our chopper) and Nick and I go way back. What Nick said was that he would not be the head coach at Alabama, then a bit of Golden Flake potato chip caught in his windpipe, so most people missed when he ended that statement with, "forever.." But Lane's not coming to LSU. :
