Spent a 3rd rounder on a kicker to only cut him 1 game into season #3

For as much crap as Loomis gets, Lynch has been equally as stupid the past 5 years.

Since 2021, these are the starters they have drafted. Aside from Purdy, its honestly nobody special or standing out. They're a well coached team, but they are most definitely mediocre talent.

QB - Purdy
WR - Pearsall
RG - Puni
DE - Williams
DT - Davis
LB - Winters
CB - Green
CB - Lenoir
NB - Stout
S - Brown
S - Sigle

Stupid? It looks like 11 starters on the team with the 3rd best NFC Championship odds? What am I missing? More than half of them are in their rookie or 2nd season - out of curiosity how are you even coming up with “mediocre”?

Is this where we punish Lynch for those not being more household names because they couldn’t beat out other drafted bums? Guys like Bosa, Warner, Greenlaw, Kittle, Samuel, Jennings, Aiyuk, Hufanga, Armstead, etc.? Or any of the FAs that helped make the Niners the most stacked team in the NFC over the prior 5 years? The Loomis comparison is hilariously awful when you consider the reason most of those younger players are now starting this season is because Lynch specifically slammed the reset button this offseason to get younger/cheaper. Putting his name in the same paragraph as the can kicker is slander by association

I guess it’s lucky for SF that rosters don’t start with the 2021 draft class

Most importantly though it’s just a retarded take. While you may be clueless regarding the Niners roster, that back 7 is going to be loaded and Saleh will toy with NO with it on Sunday. It’s already consensus that Pearsall is going to be a monster and not even acknowledging him just outs you as oblivious. Lenoir’s already a Top 20 CB FFS

Rest assured we do agree that you are not in the same boat as SF

Only thing I would counter with is that the flip side to the 9ers ability to dump everything and reload every 5-6 years is that all of those reloaded players come up for new contracts at the same time. They have to repeat this cycle more often than most because they draft so well.

Obviously that's a good problem to have and one we should be jealous of. Reminds of the 2010s Seahawks where they just seemed unbeatable and then all those rookie deals expired.

What in the world are you talking about?
Honestly deep diving in to this I wish we had this many good young players. Can you say the Saints are anywhere near this type of position?

quote:

WR - Pearsall

Was shot last year to start his rookie year. Ended the season well and just had a 100 years game. Hes looking like a good wr.

quote:

RG - Puni

A third rounder that is also in just his second year and starting. He also only gave up three sacks his entire rookie year.

quote:

DE - Williams

He’s a rookie that is starting has played 1 game.

quote:

DT - Davis

Which one are you talking about. They have two.

quote:

LB - Winters

He was a 6th round pick! That’s great value to have a high end starter in his third year from 6th round. He had 6 tackles and 2 were tackles for loss in game one.

quote:

CB - Green

Again someone only in their second year. Started as a rookie second round pick. He was rated as the 18th best cb in 2024 as a rookie.

quote:

CB - Lenoir

A 5th year starter as a 5th year player that was a 5th round draft pick! Was also rated the 23rd best cb in 2024.

quote:

NB - Stout

Dudes a rookie 3rd rounder that is already starting for the team. Not sure what you’re expecting exactly after only one game.

quote:

S - Brown

Had a really good rookie season but struggled in his second year. I’ll give you that one.

quote:

S - Sigle

He’s a 5th round rookie starting already. And he played well. He only allowed 3 catches for 21 yards and had 5 tackles and a really important fumble recovery.

Amen NFC West Brother! Remember when Jerry Rice punched our logo after he ran through the endzone, KNOWING he had dropped the ball before he scored??!! But, of course, the gay boys of Frisco got the call and they beat us in the dome.

Why should Saints fans give a shite what SF does? We as a team have enough problems of our own! Did you see the talent ( I use that term loosely) that is on the field for the Saints?

It’s fine to have average talent if you surround them with impact players.

John Lynch also drafted players that got the 49ers to 2 Super Bowls in the last 5 years. So he is doing something right.

This is one of the weirdest coping threads on our current situation I’ve seen here. The only current similarity in the two clubs is an excessive amount of injuries. Otherwise I don’t think there are any fans at all that wouldn’t trade situations in a heartbeat.

What a horrible thread. Lynch has been pretty good identifying talent, outside the Trey Lance disaster.

Mickey isn’t fit to hold his jock strap…

I’d also add that he got a first for deforest Buckner when they couldn’t afford him. Remind me again what Mickey got for Hendrickson? Almost led the league in sacks, going into his prime and got zilch for him. It’s why I said he should have been franchised instead of walking.

He also drafted Deebo in the later rounds and he was a beast before he started breaking down.

If we could trade for their entire roster, staff and front office you would do it in a heartbeat. Lynch is one of the best gms in the nfl

You list Purdy like he wouldn’t be an upgrade over Rattler/Shough being the last pick of the draft at that…. Also, Pearsall would be competing for our WR2 spot…

Competing for 2? He’d likely be our one or 1a at worst. Dude is good and a first round pick.
