I have seen some folks say: Why take public transit?
There are many people who have mobility issues or vision issues that affect driving ability.
Maybe they can't see or are missing a limb due to illness or an accident. Sometimes you have to count on other people not being total shitebags and trust that you can ride on a train or bus without getting stabbed in the neck.

Well when other people fit a certain profile I wouldn't take my chances. I definitely wouldn't relax around them.

or maybe they are not from this country, where their home country's public transit is used by many, and not burdened by murderers.

I don't blame her for not knowing to avoid an animal cage like the one she died in. She didn't know the depravity that exists in certain people in this country.

Of the 3 or so media outlets that have actually covered the story, I've seen blame laid at CCTV (Axios), Mental health and homelessness (CNN), and of course MAGA (The Hill, AP, and others...).
What I haven't seen is any outrage whatsoever from legacy media that this criminal was let back out on the streets of Charlotte over and over again after 14 arrests in yet another "soft on crime" blue urban enclave.
Hell, a young, attractive Ukrainian war refugee killed in a senseless red state murder should be absolute catnip for the legacy media. Everyone knows this, which makes the silence deafening.

Anytime I've ever been on a train in a large city, I've assumed some pos was going to stab me in the neck and I better be ready. I imagine public transport in the Ukraine has a different vibe than our trains and buses here our lovely colorful American inner cities.
