Are they doing something illegal within the city or something? I don’t know if I have ever been here but I plan to never go here.

Did they hire another patrolman?

Just floor it at the city limits. You'll blast through and get better gas mileage at the same time.

The state had cracked down on towns doing this

You cant have more than 25% of your city revenue coming from traffic tickets or something like that

I know Washington, Jeanerette and Kinder got in trouble for it. Not sure about Golden Meadow

They literally had legislation in Baton Rouge targeting Robeline. It was something like the village of Robeline had 800k in revenue, and more than 700k of it was in speeding tickets.

They got me a few years ago. 39 in a 35. $205 check mailed to them and poof, like a fart in the wind.

We wish. Nope. As usual, Louisiana has done nothing. The only restriction is on interstates and cops can’t keep the fine amount if it is less than 10mpg over the limit.

Any other roads they get to keep the full amount. That’s how shitholes like Golden Meadow, Lake Providence, and Fenton stay afloat. Just another example of how Louisiana will always be last and will continue to lose people. Our state republicans are nowhere to be seen as usual.

Any coincidence that their police chief (Golden Meadow), two former sheriffs (Lake Providence), and mayor (Fenton) have been indicted at either state of federal levels?

Hate passing through there. I've never gone through and not seen at least one cop shooting radar.

It's unfortunate the new elevated bridge didn't bypass Golden Meadow all together. I'm sure that was by design to keep the revenue flowing.

And excludes home rule charters, so Washington changed from Lawrason Act to Home Rule Charters to keep their I-49 money.

As a native, its sad to see all the blue tarps still on the roofs and drugs that have taken that place over when I pass to go fishing.

Georgetown is a bad one. The police chief was caught two years ago pocketing fine money collected on the spot.

They love to hang out on either side of overpass.

Gotta go to Fourchon for work regardless. Not sure people will go fish elsewhere either due to speed limits

They either haven't been visited by a state auditor in a long time or have someone with a Masters in Creative Accounting.

Hell . . . 30 years ago I had to go drop off my check at the Police Chief's house in Glemora, LA.
