Come eat your crow. Killed it in the 4th quarter! Closed and shined at the biggest moment!
Stop hating!

No doubt JJ is one of the best, if not the best WR in the NFL.
That being said, he may struggle this year with McCarthy at QB.

Mccarthy looked bad quarters 1-3.
And then he looked like a pro bowler in quarter 4.
Was a sight to see to be honest.

This doesn’t really need its own thread.

In the end Caleb Williams was the worse QB.

I will eat my crow. After the pick 6, I was thinking "there is no way this guy is an NFL QB."
But it was like a light came on in his head after the pick 6 and he started balling. Crazy. Mad respek.

It’s almost like he just needed to get the big mistake out of his system to loosen up.
I’ve never seen someone play so bad for the first 45 minutes and then look like a juggernaut for the last 15 - it was bizarre and I’ve been watching football for over 50 years.

Sometimes you just have to wait around for the Bears to do what the Bears tend to do.

This. Across the field was the bears and Caleb Williams. Loaded with weapons nothing got done for 45 minutes. The game was incredibly mediocre on both sides.

In the past 45 years only two QBs have overcome a double digit deficit in the 4th quarter and won in their NFL debut:
JJ McCarthy
Steve Young

Young’s debut was in 85 against the Lions for the Bucs where he won the game 19-16
Edit: i guess they were technically down 10 in the 4th but not really the same stat as last night

Similarly, many complain when players dance in the endzone, calling it unsportsmanlike. Sure, JJ celebrates but compared to many players with similar fame and fortune, he’s never been involved in legal trouble or become a locker room problem. Given the pressures he faces, many would have expected serious issues by now, but JJ remains a positive influence.

Who here hates Justin Jefferson?
Oh, wait, are you talking about Justin Jefferson or JJ McCarthy?

He cheated in college and knew about it. But outside of that, yep very honest and no legal problems
