The all-time series is tied at 34-34-3 (including 3 wins on the field for LSU in 2013, 2014, 2015) but very streaky for each team.
LSU and Florida have played every year since 1971 with UF leading over those 54 games 27-25-2.
1971 to 1987 -
LSU was 9-6-2 including 4-2-2 in Gainesville.
1988 to 2003 -
Florida was 14-2 overall and 7-1 in Baton Rouge during that period including the worst home defeat of LSU in Tiger Stadium history 58-3 in 1993.
One of the two LSU wins was the 1997 upset of #1 UF 28-21.
LSU's other win during that period was #18 LSU beating #16 Florida 36-7 in Gainesville in 2002 to complete the payback of the UF beatings in the early to mid 90s.
UF struck back with LSU's only loss in 2003 NC season.
2004 to 2024 -
LSU was 14-7 overall and 6-5 in Gainesville with a bunch of crazy games we all remember well.
Let's take the lead in the all-time series on Saturday.

Aren’t we actually up but there are some vacated victories in there?

It is a great series. One of LSUs best game every year that I look forward to

No, the 3 vacated victories give us the 34-34-3 tie. It is 34-31-3 UF if you vacate the wins.

They should have the lead

Keep the rivalry alive.
Make Florida a permanent partner on the schedule.

I would love for LSU to play Florida and Auburn annually, but both are unlikely as each SEC team will only have 3 permanent conference opponents.
As I've mentioned in other threads, I would bet a large amount of money that Arkansas is 1 of the 3 for LSU. The SEC needs a conference opponent to face LSU on rivalry week each year, and Arkansas is the only team (other than Oklahoma and Missouri) that can be made available. Arkansas makes the most sense for LSU along with scheduling Oklahoma and Missouri as permanent opponents for each other on rivalry week. Rather than LSU/OU and Arky/Mizz as it currently is.
Most agree Ole Miss is a lock to be one of LSU's permanent 3 opponents. This leaves room for 1 more permanent opponent. Alabama makes the most sense, but I still think there's a possibility its Auburn, A&M, or Florida.
The good news is that with the new scheduling format, LSU will play every SEC team at least once every 2 years.

A&M and Ole Miss are pretty much locks to be permanent LSU opponents. The third option is still up in the air. I prefer Florida over Alabama, Auburn, Miss St or Arkansas.

The vacated LSU wins don’t count as Florida wins though.

LSU and Oklahoma should be the rivalry week game. As should Arkansas Missouri. More historically aligned in terms of success

We better be very careful with Florida as they were embarrassed last week. Don't take them lightly.

LSU has way more history with Florida than Auburn

You didn't read my post. 1 of the 3 permanent opponents for LSU must be scheduled the final week of the regular season. The SEC cant leave that as a non-conference slot for LSU to choose the opponent. LSU would struggle to find a team available to play.
This means if the last regular season game is an SEC opponent for LSU, it cannot be a rotational game, It must be against one of LSU's 3 permanent opponents. That means a team other than Florida, Alabama, Auburn, Miss St, Ole Miss, or A&M. As they all play their Archrival on Rivalry week.
The only teams that can be made available to play LSU the last week of the season are Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Missouri. I think we can agree Arkansas is the best option for LSU out of those 3 as there is somewhat of a rivalry and it allows Oklahoma and Missouri to play the same week as permanent opponents, given they have a history.
Solving the SEC's scheduling issues is a much higher priority in determining the 3 permanent opponents for LSU rather than who the fans "want" the teams to be.
Arkansas and Ole Miss are locks for 2 of the 3 permanent SEC opponents for LSU.

One of my all time favorite plays, well sequence of events around a play I guess. Just an incredible display of idiocy. ( being in the student section for Tenn 2010 is why it isn’t #1)
Like I get how a player loses control, gets a hot head and delivers a late hit or something. But throwing a shoe is hilarious.

1.) frick that
2.) Your title is backwards. LSU is up "on field" but it's tied in the revisionist history books.

It was supposed to be Aggies and Ole Miss as the locks. Which would leave Arkansas, OU, and Bama. But Florida and LSU has been garnering some support to remain as well.
I would be absolutely pissed if we got Arkansas, they are the redheaded step child. I never liked the game between them and hated that the rivalry was forced upon us. But at this point who the hell knows everything is vastly changing.

LSU and Florida have played on the field 71 times.
Each team has won 34 times and there were 3 ties.
The NCAA vacated the 3 wins by LSU on the field in 2013, 2014, and 2015. I guess I should say that I counted the on-the-field wins. Ignore was a bad word choice. I'll fix it in OP.

I read already that A&M will be one of the three permanent opponents. And Ole Miss. The third is still up in the air as I haven't given up hope that LSU and Tulane will renew their NATURAL last game of the season rivalry.
I believe Oklahoma will renew its natural rivalry with Oklahoma St., and Arkansas will finish with Missouri.
