Correct me if I’m wrong but this OL has trouble holding blocks.

They don’t seem to match up well with smaller quick and strong defensive linemen.

I haven’t rewatched the game but that’s my initial impression.

I don’t even know if this is fixable because it’s a talent and skill issue.

Thanks, Captain Obvious.

I would like to add that our offense struggles with scoring points

Holding blocks? Have of them whiff and don’t even start the block.

I am trying to figure out how we line up knowing we are going to run the ball and still get the RB chopped in the backfield every time…

I'm sure the pff pass block grades will be worse this week compared to last where Moore and guards grading in the 80s.

However the run block grades for last week and this week have and will be otherworldly terrible. All but Moore were in the low 60s and 50s last week which is really bad. Although I think even moore was a high 60s which is average

There is one lineman every play that barely even touches a defender. Makes the job of the other 4 really tough. Will let you choose which one cause it varies but there is always one.

I would argue that the offense’s best “team” running play came when Nuss was under center for one of the TDs. Because Nuss is not a running threat, lining up in the shotgun apparently puts a lot of pressure on the OL to execute running plays. At least in the red zone line up under center and play bully ball for a few plays. Our OL is huge. Take advantage of their size. Apparently the OLs weakness is quick feet so stop calling plays the exploit their weakness especially in the red zone.

IMO, generally the ratio of formations with Nuss should be as follows:

Between the 20s: one play under center and two in shotgun.

Red zone: two plays under center and one in the shotgun.

Seems like they would get better practicing against our proficient defensive line???

I wanna say it was like 2nd and 10 and Nuss hurled one into the end zone in the second half when he had about 8 yards to gain in front of him.. saw Kelly light him up to take off and get positive yards. Obviously he’s just not comfortable taking off.

Sometimes Nuss has an uncanny ability to make easy plays look hard and hard plays look easy.

For an inexperienced group, they do pass block well. Their blocking in the running game is terrible. Is this due to a lack of talent, a poor scheme, poor backs or a combination of the three. If Arkansas fires Pittman, I would hire him as our line coach. We are not getting it done.

LG and now center are massive liabilities. #65 gets manhandled almost every down. They were doing max protect against la tech..... not good.
