One of our biggest road blocks for a Playoff and 10 plus Win Season.

I thought he was good last week. Tonight's game plan was pretty vanilla and they overlooked the opponent.

Losing Moore hurt.

Did Nuss audible or change the protection at all tonight? I feel like they just went with whatever play was called and didnt change much at the LOS.

I think Sloan sucks sure. Our rotations are questionable but I think the biggest problem is coach davis and our OLINE. You can’t call shite when you can’t block. And we can’t block for shite. Against tech. So frustrating.

From what I understand BK is pretty much the OC, I don't think Sloan has any autonomy.

His little sweeps are gonna be exposed when we play a real defense.

We're in for a long season offensively.

Matt Canada wasn’t the program. Coach O went ogre rogue and got his grubby fingers in his offense and basically handcuffed Canada. There was a reason Canada had a job on an NFL team for many years after that season bc Canada was more competent than his boss

The last drive showed the weakness of RZ play calling and the OLine. 1st down from the 2yd line same stupid run play 3x in a row minus -1yard and a FG. That will lose you games in the SEC! The OL is physically weak, bad scheme and bad play calling.
That falls on Davis, Sloan and Frank. Frank hasn’t had a true power back who can pick up 3yards on their own in years.

Wrong. The problem is the play calling and Nuss. I was blaming the OL at first until i paid attention to the pattern. The running game JUST FROM THE DAMN RBS, fell off a cliff when Denbrock and Daniels were no longer on the team. The same thing in 2020 and 2021 with Max Johnson, Finley, Brennan, and Nuss.

Burrow and Daniels had no problem with production from RBs (because they gave the defense more things to think about), but MFs at QB who can't run, coupled with not being good with the deep ball, coupled with lack of running period, spells disaster for the run game.

Clemson overthought LSU. Nuss is terrible at the deep ball, so if they contributed more to the 5-15s instead of safeties up high, they would have dusted our offense. Louisiana Tech told us to prove that we were good with the deep ball, and Nuss proved that we are straight arse with it.

He wasn’t.

There wasn’t anything about the play calling that was elite vs Clemson.

It was a defense that just kept getting you the ball back.

Not to mention Sloans play calling on the last 2 drives were atrocious, basically conceding to give them the ball back and put it on the defense to win it.

I like to believe he would never run a 180lb runningback up the middle 3 straight times if the game wasn’t already over

He was in fact good vs Clemson. Maybe he went Vanilla vs an inferior opponent idk. Moore getting hurt on the first play completely screwed everything up though.

I am not a huge Sloan guy but at the end of the day there was some failed execution on the players's part. If these drives in in TD rather than FG or Turover, you are looking at +19 pts

+ 7pts

quote:

(13:43) No Huddle-Shotgun #18 G.Nussmeier pass intercepted by #1 M.Richard at TECH29 broken up by #11 C.Woods,
End Of Play.

+4pts (ended in FG)

quote:

06:34) No Huddle-Shotgun #18 G.Nussmeier pass incomplete short right to #12 K.Parker thrown to TECH00.

+4pts (ended in FG)

quote:

Shotgun #18 G.Nussmeier pass incomplete short left to #12 K.Parker thrown to TECH00.

+4pts(last drive, didn't try and score)

quote:

1-G TECH03 (02:48) Shotgun #28 K.Jackson rush middle for 1 yard gain to the TECH02 (#90 J.Madkins).
2-G TECH02 (02:13) Shotgun #22 H.Berry rush left for 0 yards to the TECH02 (#90 J.Madkins; #7 J.Shelby Jr.).
(02:06) Timeout by LTU.
3-G TECH02 (02:06) Shotgun #22 H.Berry rush middle for 0 yards to the TECH02 (#98 D.Rieman; #10 K.Fields).
(02:00) Timeout.
4-G TECH02 (02:00) #34 D.Ramos field goal attempt from 19 yards GOOD (H: #90 G.Chadwick, LS: #43 S.Hall), clock 01:55

What does his play calling remind you of sometimes? For me, his inner Jimbo Fisher comes out every once in a while with these long arse developing plays and lack of imagination.

Sloan is not a good OC but some of you people must not watch the games or just don’t know what you are talking about.

The problem isn’t creativity (how many reverse/fake reverse/RB out of the backfield plays/mult guys in motion plays did we run?) it’s the execution of the simple plays. Outside zone takes forever to develop, RT misses block on rusher, LG doesn’t block anyone on a run play. That’s on Sloan. He sets the expectations for these guys and coaches practices.

Sloan has been bad for two years and while Nuss isn’t a Heisman winner he’s good enough to win a NC with our defense.

You guys keep saying this. This was not on play calling. Prove it. What calls were bad?

I can think of one poor call. The majority of the poor play was on bad decisions by Nuss, inaccurate throws, and the Oline playing poor.
