Coach O has an “itch” to coach again , attempt to change $8 million divorce ruling denied

Former LSU football coach Ed Orgeron remains on the hook for more than $8 million that he owes to his ex-wife, Kelly Orgeron.
After the Louisiana Supreme Court ruled in June that Kelly Orgeron was entitled to half of Ed Orgeron's $17 million buyout from LSU firing him in 2021, the former coach asked the court to rehear his case and reverse their decision. Ed Orgeron's legal team argued that the high court ignored long-established precedent along with tax implications in their ruling, which they warned could upend decades of decisions on splitting community property.

But the Louisiana Supreme Court released a 4-3 decision Thursday saying they stand by their previous ruling. They denied Ed Orgeron's application for rehearing. Kelly Orgeron and her legal team "could not be more delighted" with the ruling, her lead attorney said Thursday.

Orgeron signed the extension, which included terms for a potential future buyout, 43 days before filing for divorce.

On a Barstool Sports show last month, Orgeron said he's been "getting the itch again" to return to coaching football.

Yeah to an extent your right… I think his. argument here is the 8 million number is wrong based on gross vs net… the court didn’t take into consideration agent fees, taxes, or assets already received…

His argument is as retarded as he is then.

it’s a bad ruling.
It doesn’t make any sense that the buyout, which is conditional on his firing, was earned at the time of him signing the contract and not when he was firing
If he wasn’t fired, then he wouldn’t have gotten that money. So how is it earned when he signed?
If he just quit, he wouldn’t have gotten it.

Pussy is undefeated.
And will make your arse quit.
Even with half of $8M, you could live good on that the rest of your life and if you take care of yourself, leave a shite ton to your kids.
What a fricking idiot.

Eh, I haven’t read the ruling, but the buyout was a term of the contract that retard signed right before filing for divorce. It also doesn’t look good that retard tried to change the effective date of his operative contract in order to make it look like it became operative after the divorce.
O was always trashy and dumb. I have no sympathy for him.

Regardless how you feel about him… he got a solid argument both ways… how could she be entitled to future earnings… plus why would the judgment be based on money not received (gross vs net)

i think the shadiness of it all made for a bad decision to get the “right” result

You need to go read the ruling. The court awarded half of the net amount after payment of agent fees. Taxable amounts do not appear to be addressed, which isn’t surprising.

Go read the ruling. These were not considered future earnings by the court.

Coach O’s personal decision making leaves a lot to be understood and can be a good road map for people upon which to learn what NOT to do

His money comes frim playing cross state lines. Does he have an ability to appeal this ruling at the federal level?

The amount of hate that some of yall have for O is strange to me
It really is. I know his tenure here didn’t end like you guys wanted it to, but like him or not, the dude had a major part in putting possibly the best CFB of all time together, and you ungrateful, spoiled children HATE him now because of how it ended. It honestly doesn’t make much sense to me
And please, save me the whole ‘he completely TANKED our entire program’ schtick. No he didn’t. A ‘completely tanked’ program doesn’t get turned around in 2/3 years.

Oh piss off. Like I said, he was always trashy and dumb. His “major part” of 2019 was clapping on the sidelines and having the wherewithal to not frick up what was working. For that, I guess I will give him credit.

He's going to be the recruiting coordinator and AHC on Gruden's Arkansas staff.
