Let's break it down. Clemson lines up with 3 WRs, a TE on the left side, and a RB in the backfield.

LSU defense only has 2 DL on the line of scrimmage, Payton and Gooden. Perkins, and Whit and West Weeks are standing up on the line. Not exactly a normal "run stopper" defense.

The most impressive play of the night is this right here. Patrick Payton splits the tackle and TE and ends up getting a tackle behind the line of scrimmage. This is just raw athletic ability, one swim move and pure speed to make this tackle.

Anyone have a tip to not make these GIFs microscopic? I enjoy breaking down film post-game and would like to post more of these as this season progresses. I think its going to be a wild one.

I was watching power hour with CarterThePower breakdown film. That play before Clemson's TD on 4th down had 2 OL 5 yards downfield.

Jack Pyburn is also on the line of scrimmage. Now hes in a 2 point stance but hes on the line of scrimmage. Jack Pyburn has been blowing things up.

I also see that Gooden blows up the backside guard, pushing him into the backfield and altering the RB's path. He also pulls the C in to help chip him, leaving Weeks unobstructed to help finish the play behind the los. Just all around great play from the front 7 on that snap. Love to see it!

Gooden beating the double team to get penetration was big too. We only had two defensive linemen and they both got in the backfield against double teams.

I think 2 plays after we ran the screen to Johnson 3 straight times, Durham got a run around the right side and I think he went down inbounds on purpose. I think we were under 5 minutes there and he could have accelerated and gotten more yards had he gone for the sidelines, but I think he took the 3-4 yards and willingly got tackled inbounds to keep the clock running, smart play if that's the case.

Watched the Clemson TD play and Weeks got blowed up by #19 on that goal line run.

My favorite play was the mis-direction / reverse play....

Huge part of the success of that play.

Maybe next time he gets some help from his backside. A little extra push from may be a safety once their back was initially stopped. But I am sure that over the season those little things will be improved.

I noticed that in real time and was yelling at the screen. Totally egregious. Like waaay beyond LOS and running ahead to block. Should have been third and goal from the 20 not fourth and goal from the 1.
