Oh boy
I've had experience with some stuff they do. I visited a friend last weekend in another state and he hired migrants to put up cabinets. They used nail guns on the front frames. Then they took his Dewalts before leaving and he can't get in touch with them. Surprise surprise
What are your migrant work horror stories?

Governor Evers was nearly in tears recently stating that the state of Wisconsin will slip into ruin without illegal immigrant labor.

Most do not know how to do what they are hired to do. It’s just that they want to work because they want to get paid.

Its the same as everything else. You get what you pay for.
The cheaper illegals do shite work. The ones who do good work know the market rates, know their worth, and charge what anyone else would. The issue with that is they have no overhead and are getting market rates. No insurance, license, taxes, etc
That also means you have no recourse if the F you

At least they showed up.
That's half of life. Fake it til you make it.
I know this is preaching to the choir, but Americans need to start valuing work again. We have a lot of young men that have never even so much as touched a hammer, and we wonder why the younger generations work ethic sucks...

You know how long it takes an illegal crew to build a, oh, their finished.

Culturally, all Americans do. Younger generations all want to work in a tech related job, because it's considered easy. (Can be done from home or at worst in an office building.)
If you want a higher caliber worker in construction or the various trades then it needs to be treated like respectable work by the culture. Too many parents dissuade their kids from pursuing a trade because it's seen as beneath them or "giving up."
People can't even hang a TV or put up curtain rods anymore. That's not just laziness. That's ineptitude. And frankly, it's child abuse to not teach your kids how to work with their hands.

"They" range from skilled to unskilled. Which ones are you referring?

We have a massive competency and confidence crisis in this country.

What's the problem, just turn the whole house around to match the stairs.

All of them
The goal of most people in this country seems to be an office job where they can stare at their phones all day and do as little as possible.

We had our exterior siding replaced over the summer. The migrant crew our contractor used to do the sills cut the joists under the floor of our back hallway, without first supporting them. The hallway collapsed. Still dealing with this.

Contractors we used to put house back together after Laura spent twice as long and did half the job he other crew down the street did. These were Hondurans but it’s who we could find after the storm. Tree crew behind us had elementary school kids jumping from tree to tree cutting limbs.
Also, our crew drug up the day before our furnishings were to be delivered and after their last draw. Wife kept them from leaving after threatening to call DA.

Had several rooms remodeled earlier this year.
The contractor used 2 different painting crews.
One crew did a great job.
The other struggled with straight lines and bleed-over. They got mad when we pointed it out and said our expectations were unreasonable.
