There is a few valid options, but give me Charles Hanagriff. This is the voice of my childhood and it continues through today. Nothing like waiting on Hanny to come on post game and break everything down. I can close my eyes and be on Nicholson, with my dad, stuck in traffic, windows rolled down, the thick warm air smelling like whiskey and smoke, listening to him recap the game. He's honest and don't give a damn about your feelings. Plus a bonus is listening to him argue with drunk coonasses.

Jim Hawthorne is another, but he was the perfect voice for The Rant. The ultimate nega Tiger. "Pass to sideline, he's wide open, no Tiger near him... Gain of two"

Doug Morrow was a delight to have as a color man though.

And Second place in my book is Dan Borne. I will miss this man. "Chance of rain?? NEVER". and of course "The sun has found its home in the western sky, IT'S SATURDAY NIGHT IN DEATH VALLEY!!". (Plays Calling Baton Rouge)

But that's only home games and the ones you made it to. Hanny has you every game before and for 3 hours after. So for my money, give me Hanny!!

Dan Borne is the GOAT.

It’s just not the same.

Completely agree, we don’t know how good we’ve had it. Best PA voice I’ve heard in any stadium.

Dan Borne was great at PA, but Sid Crocker was better. Not by much, but he was tremendous.

For calling LSU games, love John Ferguson’s voice.

JC Politz and Ferguson were great. I am old enough to actually have been at games when Ferguson was the PA. My Paw Paw had a ton of recordings of radio with Politz. They loved him bc the family was from down the bayou.

This was really kind of lame once it stopped being true in the early 80s. There actually had been a period of about 7 years before that where it was uncanny how the rain stayed away.

Hate away.

Wait. What TF did you say?? Pitiful?? And in the 80' s I sat in a monsoon vs Miami. Could not have been more wet if I was in a swimming pool. And Jimmy Johnson beat the breaks off of us. I was 6 or 7 and begged my aunt to stay the whole game. And we stayed till the bitter bitter end. RIP Minnie

You know this is complete idiotic. Hawthorne was by FAR the most versatile of all in my lifetime. John Ferguson was the best for football.
