Why are y’all crying about Clemson “reporting” it?

If the roles were reversed, everyone here would be saying BK is playing 4D chess and a ruthless genius. This is why every other fanbase thinks LSU fans are whiny pussies.
This falls on Kelly and his personnel department for this to “surprise” them days before the game.

How could they possibly know about a ruling that changed after the game was over and NCAA told Houston about it only? Haulcy didnt even know

It won’t be a popular take, but this is exactly how I feel
No one was looking to do us any favors here. There were answers to be had, we just didn’t dig far enough.

The same way Clemson did. You ask the NCAA for clarification.
This is 100% on LSU, the staff and the compliance department and they should be embarrassed that Clemson knew of the infraction and asked for clarification before they did.
This wasn't an attempt to slide it in unnoticed; they genually didn't even fricking know it was a possibility.

I mean BYU knew lol. It wouldn’t be extremely hard to piece together. The guy he fought with was suspended for the first half of the bowl game.

I dont blame them, but with this, stealing our signs in 2019, and dabos holier than though persona, I certainly hope we beat their arse.

This is only a failure by the NCAA or Houston here, not our side. If Haulcy didn't even know the ruling changed and he was suspended, its hard to imagine we would dig into about a ruling they didnt even know existed
NCAA only ever told Houston and Houston told nobody

The bowl game suspension was automatic. It was an ejection which requires the next half suspension.
Haulcy was cited for something that does not require a next season suspension. Only Houston knew the ruling had been changed, and only much later.
This isn't hard. There was no reason for LSU to suspect or investigate.
Houston probably told Dabo, who reported it.
I don't hold it against him in any way, but also frick him and I hope we crush his soul for it.

Two things can be true at once. It can be a "smart" move by Clemson and also be the biggest baby back bitch move.

Yeah, BK didn't even correct the record when a reporter asked him how they didn't know he was ejected in the last game, which insinuated they didn't know that.
That is an egregious failing.

at this point, I'm more mad at Houston

That's just not correct. He was ejected for fighting which carries a suspension. LSU should have reached out to Houston AND the Big 12 for the notification they received last November and then submitted it to the NCAA for clearance and clarification.
Thats exactly what the compliance is for.
You may not like it or agree with it but you can pound sand.

Of course there was which is exactly why Clemson did. A players eligibility depends on the outcome.

Houston didn't have any duty to us once we stole their player.
Its ridiculous that LSU didn't know he was ejected, and if they did, not check with the NCAA
And its ridiculous that the NCAA doesn't automatically inform LSU once he changes schools

Unpopular take, but 100% accurate.
Whenever a large company hires a new employee, they do a deep dive investigation on that employee.
You would assume the LSU compliance department would make a phone call to the NCAA and inquire if there are any infractions, issues, or any thing that would keep a player from participating in any game on every single player transferring here. Seems very obvious and routine to me.
But… everyone loves to play victim and blame someone else now.

Incorrect, he was ejected for unsportsmanlike conduct (no suspension), which AFTER the game was over, was later revised by the NCAA to fighting (carries suspension). They told Houston, and Houston never told us or Haulcy

It is always ALWAYS upon the school and compliance dept to determine the eligibility standards of their athletes. Now, whether they enforce them or not is different but it is not the player's responsibility, it's the school he plays for.
This is no different at the high school level.

Doesn't really work like that, seeing as they have an amazing path to the playoffs regardless of the outcome of week 1.

I feel like the player damn sure remembered. Why didn't he open his mouth to the possibility?

No, he was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct. He was ejected for fighting.
Which is exactly why LSU should have gotten clarification.
