Just heard some reporters on the radio talking about Jerry Jones

“You can’t be the owner and the GM”
“You can only be one or the other”
In reference to the Cowboys sucking for so long
Sound familiar?

But he did it 30 years ago already.
What's this about anyway?

no, it doesn’t sound familiar at all. What the frick does this have to do with the Saints?

Mickey owns the Saints? :MindBlown:

Jimmy Jones made the Herchel walker trade. JIMMY not JERA knew he was cutting all the 6 players that came over to Dallas and Jimmy knew after he cut all 6 he was getting 5 more picks over the next 2 years.
Jimmy Johnson ain't walking through that door again. Jera is trying to make people think he did the Walker trade. JERA was running the franchise l. Jimmy Johnson was running the football day to day in the first years of Jones ownership.

No Micky is not the owner. But he has been GM to 2 franchises in different Sports.

Yeah, there’s a whole lot of dumb going on in this thread

That's not a fact, btw. Watch the Netflix doc that just released and you'll quickly see that J&J didn't exactly agree on how it went down. All I know is that Jerry was the actual GM so he gets credit in my eyes, whatever that's worth.

Jerry is a trainwreck of an owner. If he had bought the Browns instead of the Cowboys, he would have been run out of the league by now. With all that said, somehow the Cowboys, with a dementia patient as a GM, have outdrafted the Saints over the last few years.

He's won three Super Bowls, how many other owners or GM's have done that ?

Well, yea, kinda.
Gayle doesn’t know shite from apple butter.
He and Lauscha are the owners by proxy.

lol why would Jerry get credit for that trade? Why would Jerry get credit for doing much of anything? The moment JJ walked out of Dallas that organization went right down the tubes. We all knew why Dallas was successful and when JJ walked Jerry was shown why he is and always has been an incompetent owner.

The owner is the owner end certainly be the GM it they choose. The GM can also be the head coach, should they choose.

GM makes the trades, not the coach.

Hired a great coach. Changed the Cowboys organization and professional football forever. Currently owns the most valuable sports franchise in the world... Hate him all you want, he's the reason football is what it is today.

He’s the reason football is the way it is today? This can’t be a serious comment.

Not the style of football, but the production and presentation, yes. He's often credited with this.
For the record, I don't like Jerry or the Cowboys and I don't appreciate being put in a position to defend either so I'm stopping here. Argue with a wall.
