Picadilly shutting down after 65 years
BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Tuesday is the last day open for a Piccadilly restaurant that has served Baton Rouge diners for 65 years.
Piccadilly Holdings LLC confirmed with Louisiana First News that the Plank Road location in the Delmont Village will permanently close after Aug. 26.
This decision was not made lightly. We always consider a store closure our very last option, but it is sometimes necessary as we navigate the ever-changing environment of the restaurant industry,” the company said.
The Gonzales, LA cafeteria bit the dust some time ago.
Four other Piccadilly restaurants in the area remain open, including three in Baton Rouge and one in Denham Springs. Hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. for these locations:
6406 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge.
5474 Essen Lane, Baton Rouge.
3332 Sherwood Forest Blvd., Baton Rouge.
27156 Crossing Circle, Denham Springs.

Their customers went dead. Cafeterias were where my grandparents ate. My grands have been gone for years.

We always went with my husbands grandmother and mom. A few months ago his mom said it has gone downhill (the food specifically) so much that sheno longer wants to go.

We went probably two months ago and the food wasn’t good and it was massively overpriced
A lot of good memories there though

My Dad loved him some Picadilly on Sunday after church. I remember the one that was on Govt St. I guess it closed down years before?

Considering only one of four BR locations are closing... I'd say not.

Seems like Picadilly has been in perpetual bankruptcy for as long as I can remember.

Delmont Village is in a rough part of town. That’s likely the reason it closed.

There's going to be a mass of restaurants and businesses closing in the coming months all across the world. Trump is playing king of the world and going to bankrupt the entire world via tariffs. Like he bankrupted all his failed businesses

Last two times I went to the Picadilly on Essen I was the youngest person there by a long shot and I’m not young anymore.

My mom takes me and my wife there when we visit Lafayette during the holidays. It's purely nostalgia, food isn't nearly as good as it used to be. Lafayette is down to one location now and it will probably close once the boomers start dying off. I never see anyone under the age of 60 there
