SPR on the big screen might be worthwhile

Damn there’s a number of movies on there I wish I had seen in theaters. I’d pay triple that cost tbh if I had one in my area

Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977) was one of the best movies I saw in the theater. All of those lights and the computers taking over the conversation was impressive on the big screen in 1977.

I may drive to Bossier to see Lawrence of Arabia on Sat. September 28th at 12:10 PM. If there's a good high school football game the night before, I might do both.

I'm pretty sure if there was a regal within an hour of here, I'd go see at least these

There’s a lot there I’d like to see. We have a Regal in Huntsville.

Not to nitpick, but I’m surprised about Before Sunset. I’d think they’d choose the first one.

in 1984 the hitchcock library had been tied up in his estate settlement and when the estate was settled they rereleased vertigo, rear window and north by northwest on the big screen. this used to be really common. when a new james bond movie was released they would rescreen all the old james bond movies in the lead up to the new film. i remember seeing mary poppins on the big screen i would have been 3 when it was originally released there's no way i could remember that.

For the future, for the movie theater as an industry to survive, this is the way.

There is a hell of a lot of flexibility that comes with the entire history of movie making...

I originally saw it on the big screen. But damn I had to go up and see what you meant by SPR. Can't we just say the title...Saving Private Ryan?

How was the attendance? I had a fantasy draft and couldn’t go but my local evening showing was packed.

I’m checking out Dr Strangelove tomorrow and most likely Interstellar on Friday. Interstellar won’t live up to 70mm IMAX but one of friends never watched it.

there were maybe 12 people total, but I think it had something to do with the theater (closest regal to BR was in Kenner). it was pretty run down the bar area was taped off with a sheet of black paper, the mall outside looked abandoned-ish, the leather on the seats was all peeling off and some had the stuffing coming out

But it was still worth it and glad I went

I know exactly the one you are talking out. I haven’t been since before Covid and it was rough then.

There was about 20 people for my showing of Dr Strangelove last night. Wont make Interstellar so The Thing will be my next one.

I fricking love Pan's Labyrinth. Not sure why but the scene where the Captain caves the guys face in with the bottle has always stuck with me. I've seen much worse in other movies and real life stuff on the internet. But that scene has always stuck with me. It like most of the movie was very unsettling. I went into watching it knowing nothing and I left loving it.

My wife and I will be in New Orleans on Saturday so we're going to see Saving Private Ryan. I've seen it more times than I can count and still can't make it through the full Mama Ryan scene without crying but I've never seen it in theaters so I'm looking forward to it.
