Does anyone understand why having the National Guard helping defeat crime is a bad thing?

I just don’t get it?

Trump did it. That’s the explanation for 85% of opposition.

Mayor of Chicago was on morning Joe.
Joe asked, three straight times, Will having an extra 5k troops on the streets help? The dude refused to answer, giving bloviated answers every time. Frustrated, Joe gave someone else a chance to ask questions.

Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

I could sort of understand DC since it isn't a state. But even then, it will just go back to being crime ridden city when they leave. So I don't know if it accomplishes much, besides setting a dangerous precedent for future presidents to send in the NG against a group they don't like in a state.
I don't agree with sending NG to cities just to fight crime. For quelling riots and dispersing riots and protest that are endangering a large number of people and property is one thing.

What if I told you that urban chaos is a mechanism that Democrats intentionally employ to maintain their grip on power?
What if I told you that peace in the inner cities actually threatens the Democrat power elite?

If this is true, why have they been committing political suicide for 30 years?
Why haven't Republican mayors and governments taken over the past 30 years as crime evaporated?

Mass incarceration appears to work.

It would be bad if the national guard came to my house to demand that I submit to a raid because thought I was a terrorist or some sort of threat (ie some sort of violent white nationalist )

That's kind of the rub.
Everyone understands if you ramp up authoritarianism and expand the Police State, crime will decrease. The question is the cost (both in terms of rights and money) and long-term policy.
And DC is whatever, since it's federal. The admin is trying to attack states' rights in this area nationally, now, and expanding federal control over local/states.

It's not. You wouldn't even be posting about the subject had Biden done it.
The talking points to citizens would have been completely different ... about how it's great to have law & order and how Biden should be on Mt. Rushmore.

I like the idea. They demanded face covering, out of work, denial of hospital visits/care, cut off people from loved ones, especially in hospices or nursing homes. Urban residents are entitled not to live in fear and those that create that atmosphere aren’t entitled to but a clean cell with food. The long term effects of a more sustainable environment can allow people to thrive, give a chance for local governments to employ suitable professionals to provide protection. To continue down current road gives you the socialist mindset and then it all goes away regardless.

Could you please tell me why I should like or give a f**k about criminals. Trump didn't order the NG to round up Dems (I guess he did in a way)

According to some on this board, it’s bad because “the left might do it.” Lol.

It has been brought to light…. Even in the pages of the June 2012 New York Times.. that there is evidence that crime data is being manipulated for various reasons. And there is obvious evidence that leftist judges and prosecutors are routinely reducing violent crimes to misdemeanors.
And here you are STILL saying “Look at the statishsticks!!!!!! Loook!!! This Graffff!! It points dis waayyy!!! Look!!”
Buying right into their intended propaganda. Amazing how easy it is for them. So friken easy.

The only reason is "Trump bad".
Why else would the large blue cities not accept help to get control of crime and better protect their citizens?
I agree, the National Guard isn't a permanent solution, but would allow the shithole cities to shore up whats lacking in their present law enforcement.
