Not dominating everyone like the 90's but at least back to being a legitimate opponent, 9-10 win program, and playoff contender late into the season. Rhule is a good coach who is building them up the right way and had a winning season last year for the first time since 2016.

5 of their 6 losses last year were by 7 to Illinois, 4 at Ohio St, 7 to UCLA, 8 at USC, and 3 at Iowa. They are not in as deep of a hole as people assume.

Get a little better in year 3, which they should, and the schedule is very manageable. Penn St and Michigan are the only ranked teams.

Is Raiola still being an absolute weirdo with the Mahomes stuff or has he finally given that crazy shite up?

they have had a 1-score-loss issue for like 5+ years now. Last year was no different.

They've been losing 4-5 close games a season for a decade.

Bo Pelini died so that Frost could bury the program

Back to the Pelini and late Solich years

Hope Rhule doesn't get fired.

Totally. But the difference is they are improving, should have good QB play for the first time in years, and the 1 score losses in 2024 were the difference in a potential 11-1 season, not just trying to win 6-8 games.

2023: 5-7
2024: 7-6
2025: ?

Too much of their hype is based on a manageable schedule.

It will be interesting to see how they look against Cincinnati on Thursday night. I know Cincy isn't supposed to be much this year, so it is a game Nebraska should make a statement in with everyone watching.

Every year, it's either......

"Miami is back!"

or

"Nebraska is back!"

I guess eventually one of them will be?

Well, they cried that Texas was back for 15 years and they eventually did come back, so, anything can happen.

USC, Tennessee, Miami, Colorado and Nebraska just sittin' around waiting for it to be their turn again aaaaaaaaany day now..

Ehhh, that's like saying (7-6) USC is back big this year because 9 of their games were within 1 score.

Nothing different at all, huh? Not even an entirely new coaching staff?

I mean, if you’re going to hold them to a standard of their history, when you’re trying to discredit them with recency bias, you might want to consider their whole legacy.

I think that program historically speaks for itself.

Fraudrick Mahomes did the same garbage. How you blow a 10 pt halftime lead to a team that had five 1st downs in the game?
