Should I hub it or leave the tee off the deck about 1/4 inch?

Advantages. Disadvantages? Of various tee heights?

For me I put it just a hair higher than the grass. Basically make it sitting just in top of the grass. I tend to catch my irons a little thin on my misses. So this help eliminates that. Any higher, and I hit it too high on the face.

I would basically shove the tee all the way down. With a wood it would only be maybe a quarter inch up from that.

I don’t like using tees at all with my irons

Looks like I should push tee into ground, and leave the holder and minimal shaft above ground.

Thanks guys.

I’ll work on this at range and course.

Heard one pro describe it like this... "If I am playing lift, clean, and place, and I placed my ball on a tee, everyone would say that I am cheating. Therefore, it must be an advantage to tee the ball up."

Arnold Palmer and I never met

I also get (at least) 18 perfect lies per round without a tee

According to the rules, yes. But I still wouldn’t prefer to do that if my ball was already in a good to perfect lie in the fairway.

I use a tee on all par 3's. Sometimes if I am in between clubs, I will tee it up higher and use the stronger club to get more height and less distance. At least that's what this old golfer told me to do.

Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus, the best golfers of all time, teed it up on par 3's, if it's good enough for them, it's good enough for me. By the way, why would they do that if it wasn't beneficial but what do I know?

Yes this dawned on me a few years back when I found myself at odd distances.

And Freddie Couples never tees it up. Why is this so upsetting that some people hit the ball better with their irons without a tee?

Stats don’t lie. Teeing it up has a higher percentage of greens hit. Science.

And Freddie Couples has 15 PGA Tour Wins with 2 Players Championships and 1 Masters Win

Tiger Woods has 82 PGA Tour wins with 15 Majors and 2 Players Championships

Jack Nicklaus has 73 PGA Tour wins with 18 Majors and 3 Players Championships

How many more could Freddie have won had if he teed it up? One will never know but you keep doing you.

If it’s really short like 110 in I leave some of the tee out. Otherwise I’m pushing it all the way down.

If I’m using one of my hybrids then I still push it down
