He received the following two quotes from Terminix:

quote:

Subterranean Termites
Option 1: Centricon Baiting System
• Year 1: $1,439
• After year 1: $295 annually

Option 2: Liquid Barrier Treatment
• Year 1: $3,689
• After year 1: $189 annually

He would love the Home & Garden boards input...

Go online and order Termidore HE
Roughly $170.

Follow the directions.

There may be videos on YouTube.

Are there active termites? If so, my termite guy would recommend baiting to kill the egg laying queens underground.

Everything I've read says that the underground barrier system is by far the most effective option from a prevention standpoint.

If you check out the reviews and tests on youtube the bait traps seem hit or miss.

I'd actually advise against a DIY approach in the case of NOLA (city proper) termite treatments.

Friend of mine has a contract with Terminex, and he found termites. No hassle, they came out and enclosed the entire building and did a fumigation treatment.
