That's why planes have two wings. Always have a spare.
Posted on 8/22/25 at 7:44 am to Tigerbait357
At least it wasn’t the whole wing…

Boeing: Any landing you can walk away from is a good landing.

Hey, the plane got there without it - start building new planes without them to save money.

That's further out near the end of the wing genius

Airilon
I mean, I'll give him credit, it does move Air.
Maybe he came up with a better name for it.

I fly to and from Orlando all the time. Could have been me...

I worked with an Asian engineer that pronounced it as “A-Ron” so I guess anything close is understood by me.

Oh wow I misspelled a rarely used word. Sue me ****.
Posted on 8/22/25 at 8:47 am to Napoleon
I mean, you didn't just misspell it. The whole pronunciation is wrong. And the part of the wing its on, you got that wrong too.

It looked like the trim tab but i see now it's part of the fowler flap assembly. And they are adjacent on the wing. It's not like they are in seperate parts of the plane.

How old was plane?
Isnt delta notorious for keeping older planes running instead of buying new ones?
They were flying MD80s well into the 2010s

Looks like a trim tab. Not really that big a deal.
