Can we 'disappear the homeless' here too?

Apparently Reddit is very upset about this happening in DC. I'd love for this to happen everywhere.

Usually I drive around with the windows up and AC on. Last week I thought it might be nice to drive with the windows down and feel the breeze. Unfortunately it seems there are homeless bums begging with signs at almost every other intersection in the city of Dallas. I didn't want them approaching and talking to me, which is way more likely with the windows down. Finally I realized I can't even peacefully drive in the city with the windows down. They ruin the experience.

Trump, please clean up the rest of the country like you're doing in DC.

No. It is the state and local officials who need to clean up their parts of the country. I definitely do not want federal troops in every major city.

State Troopers have been a big help in New Orleans during special events and FQ security. We should not and can not rely on the federal government to fix things. We have all we need to fix things in our own communities. We need to organize and make changes not just hope someone else does it.

Newsom did the same thing for San Francisco when Xi Jinping visited. Media barely commented on it.

Let's see how the media are talking about it now...

Another small government conservative who wants the federal government to rule every facet of society so he can roll the windows down in his car without being afraid.

Which means you believe people should be living in fear.

I think as a temporary measure its fine. If a city or state requests it, im all for it. Louisiana should request it for New Orleans and Bama should do same for Bham. Clean up these cities and make them safe

It is curious how the left feels like their neighbor must suffer for their(the leftist's) own virtue. The neighbor doesnt get to share the virtue though.

At some point, rational people can wake up and say "we dont have to live like this"

Yeah the Fed Gov has a great track record of temporary measures staying temporary.

Ok worst case scenario...federal troops stay indefinitely in the city...and the city just stays safe indefinitely? Youre really painting a bleak picture here

DC is a test for the rest of the country. 96% of the population there is Democrat, but nowTrump is showing them they don't have to suffer from ridiculous living conditions and crime.

It's a powerful message that the Left will be hard pressed to explain away and convince the people that yes, it IS better to live amongst homeless and be harassed by street thugs, crime and violence.

May be a derailing the thread...but weve tried the "fix it at its source" approach for years. What if we just went the practical approach of just overwhelming crime ridden areas with police and ruthlessly locking up criminals. Maybe then these places can breathe and their kids not be corrupted by thugs allowed to roam freely

That is what is expected out of the government, to keep the public area that we pay taxes already for safe from domestic and foreign thugs. It is literally the job we want done

We can solve or reduce homelessness here but congress keeps doing things like sending our tax money to fund Ukraine and Israel wars.
