Yes, being excited about a movie that has someone who is universally agreed to be the best actor of our generation coming back from a seven year hiatus on a movie/tv board means we are the weird ones. And here you are talking about sucking dick. Maybe you are the one with an addiction?

Exactly. The best actor of the previous gen and he is getting to an age where it wont be possible to be great for TOO much longer.
Go watch Lincoln/There Will Be Blood and maybe you'll see why people are excited.

I don't even put stock in trailers anymore. They're way too good at building up suspense for movies that suck.
At least the cinematography and acting look good for this one. Hopefully the story is good and it's paced properly.
