Giovanni Pelletier ‘tripping’ after smoking weed before body found in pond: Sheriff

Pelletier was last seen near the intersection of I-75 and SR-70 in Manatee County after running from the car he was in with his cousins. His cousins later told police that, during their trip from Englewood to Brevard County, he began acting erratically before leaving the vehicle.
Shortly after being picked up by his cousins, the group starts smoking while headed to Brevard County. In interviews with police, the cousins said Pelletier started “tripping” after they smoked.

Weed can trigger schizophrenia in vulnerable patients. Might be what happened.

Wrong. It is not made in a lab somewhere, it is grown. Now the plant has been modified (engineered?) to have a higher THC content, but most crops that are grown by farmers have been modified (engineered).

There was a study decades ago in Sweden showing a higher incidence of schizophrenia among cannabis users.

It kinda is. The first time I smoked some of the pharmacy grade stuff after 20 years of not smoking I was blasted out of my mind. Definitely not the dirt skunk shite we used to get in the country.

Correlation not causation.
Now check on excessive alcohol use and schizophrenia. Then check the “self medicating” stats for schizophrenics.

It is one of the reasons I will not mess with that stuff anymore.
Hell, just 15 years ago, it was substantially weaker.

Much like everything we have nowadays (fruits, vegetables, etc.) it is a far cry from its ancestor.
