I haven't watched South Park in years. I guess I grew up.

Why are they focusing on Ft. Pelosi and all that military activity for Joe's installation? Flashback episode?

First episode was funny
Second was ok, but deadhorse came into play
This looks just fricking lazy… disappointed everything is going to be Trump.

SP has changed, but it’s still quality television though. Even seasons or episodes (or specials) that are sort of disappointing I still enjoy a good bit. It’s not at the top of its game anymore, but no show on for 25+ years can really say otherwise either.

This is about where I stand. Like I said a couple weeks ago, I don’t care if they make fun of Trump. That doesn’t bother me, as long as it’s funny. Trump as Saddam was funny at first. Now it just feels lazy.
I’m all about some Towelie (I never overly liked him, but he's good for a few laughs and we haven't seen him in forever outside of - I think - a brief appearance in one of the Covid specials), but if this episode is just Trump bouncing around as Saddam and jokes about his penis, that’s gonna be disappointing.

I just want to hold South Park up to its own terms and make it funny. Matt and Trey when asked what their favorite episode is never hesitate to say that the best episode is “The Return of the Fellowship of the Ring to the Two Towers” and regard it as their masterpiece because it’s kids being kids in the best way and makes perfect sense as a parody. They made an entire game out of it too. Just do something like that.
Both Trey and Matt’s opinion on the episode: “Just a perfect example, to us, about how much fun the show can be when it's just kids being kids.”

To be fair, the last "full season" of South Park was 2019.

So they are just milking it for money?
They are starting to get too old for the juvenile shite, gonna end up like Stern.

There was this thing called Covid lockdown and then they were busy with lawsuits.
Now those things have all been settled.

I love South Park, and much of the side discussion on this season is about the relevancy of the show.
I guarantee the #1 way to become irrelevant as a show is to be like everyone else.
If you’re going to base the season on Trump bashing, like everyone else… you’ll head down that road.
South Park is best when it focuses either on the boys, or cultural trends. It can be solid gold there. But hey… if you want to be a one trick pony… be my guest.

Agreed. I’d rather they focus away from the political stuff. It’s surprising to see this direction after they admitted how much they regretted focusing so much on Trump leading up to 2016 election.
I just want to see the town of South Park and not their take on political figures.
