He’s on a rehab assignment, swings at the pitch and gets hit and throws the bat at the pitcher. Should be suspended the rest of the season.

Absolutely dying at him taking a full cut at that pitch

It doesn’t appear he’s been fully rehabilitated.

In a bit of fairness to Robles, that was the 5th time he had been HBP in that series. Doesn’t excuse the action, but I get where the anger came from

The only reason he got hit was because he committed to swinging

He's on a rehab assignment and has been plunked 5 times in 15 at bats. Twice by that same pitcher who also beaned him last year.

Pitch had a ton of inside run on it. Started off like an inside strike so Robles tries to pull it into LF. He then realizes he’s about to get hit but can’t move out of the way, there is not a lot of time to think here so he tries to hit the ball as a way to protect himself.

Can’t duck while you’re swinging.

Posters are saying it’s easy to avoid if he wasn’t already in the middle of a swing. Heck it may not have even hit him if he was taking. His back should moved into the edge of batter’s box.

This isn’t Dominican Republic winter ball you can’t assault pitchers with a deadly weapon because you’ve been hit a few times. How anyone can defend this pile of garbage is mind blowing.

5th HBP of the series and third from the pitcher.

He can throw the bat.

5x in 15 at bats….that starts to look less like an accident…

And this one was very high

Which is the deadlier weapon- a bat thrown at 40mph at a guys leg or a ball thrown 90+ near a guys head….

If you are gonna be a minor leaguer and throwing up and in on a guy on a rehab assignment you better be able to control it or be ready to back it up.

ETA y’all act like a check swing on some of this stuff is crazy I might remind y’all of this

By avoiding a bat during his little tantrum?

It wasn’t a check swing, it was a full body hack at it no matter what you think about the bat throw that part is objectively hilarious, I’m sorry. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen that on a high fastball before, and I’ve watched a lot of baseball
