Apolline restaurant has closed

A big part of what makes many local New Orleans restaurants tick are the New Orleans people behind them. The loss this summer of one passionate restaurateur now means the end of his Uptown restaurant after 14 years.
Apolline restaurant at 4729 Magazine St. has closed, confirmed Sharon Andrews. Her brother Keith Andrews was its founder and driving force. He died July 5 at age 60, shortly after a cancer diagnosis.

I liked Keith. RIP. Sad to see it close.

Sad, Paul. What do you think would do well there?

Good one.
Speaking of which, the turnstile place that was Macquet’s Bordeaux, then the weird Misa place, then some weird burger place, is closed yet again.

Saw they were working on it again today. Would make a killer wine/cocktail bar.
Owners were the same as Tal's across the street. Not sure if they are re-re-inventing the spot. Just cant get any traction there.

Agreed. Misa wasn’t bad but the menu was … odd. The burger place was an obvious stopgap. I like Tals and the owners are cool. I hope they get it going with the next iteration.

If you go to Son of a Bun google page, the website has been changed to dorismetropolitan.com and says "opens Sep 1". But everything else is the same.

Article on Nola.com just dropped. Will be called Doris Metropolitan Studio and will be a butcher/restaurant/bakery. Seems more fast casual a la Cochon Butcher.

Seems like yet another place that does not know what it is.
