Watching Australia play and a girl is on the team. I am absolutely OK with that, but why hasn’t there been a boy on one of the girls teams?

Why can a 12 year old play on a team of 15 year olds but not vice versa? Boys have a physical advantage so if a girl is good enough, I don’t see the problem.

Totally agree with girls being aloud to play, but especially in 2025, I am shocked there hasn’t been a boy suing to play softball

In the 80s, my sisters played LL baseball (they were better than a lot of boys)....
Everyone played LL until 12 years old.
Then when you graduated to Pony League, 13 and Up, the girls were out and switched to Softball or quit.
By 13, baseball got serious, weeded out the "participation grass eaters" in Centerfield and girls could no longer hang.

I would assume most 12 year old boys into sports would want to play baseball with their friends and aren’t interested in playing softball just because “boys should be able to play softball if girls play baseball”

I guess the same reason why a woman would be allowed to play in the NFL, MLB, or NBA. The physical advantage is with men, not women.

Girls hit nearly full physical maturity by 12. They are easily 2 years ahead of boys on average.
This leads to hours of nauseating tv commenters bragging non-stop about the amazing girls. Then boys his puberty and the girls are never seen on the field again.

Men’s fastpitch softball is actually pretty popular in Australia and those guys can sling it at 80mph.
