Sure. The conference championship weeks are useless and usually a disadvantage. Ask most tOSU fans and they’ll largely agree that not being in the championship game and getting a first round home game was a blessing.

Personally I prefer the old way where the regular season was essentially the playoffs.

It's ridiculous for conferences to get so many teams into a playoff.

Obviously won’t stop at 28 either. 32 seems like a pretty natural progression at some point. So cool!

Why even have a regular season at this rate just pair up the AP top 25 going into the season for a 10 week tournament

Too many rich egos running this thing not wanting to ever get left out of the money train of the CFP and making the product completely terrible in the process

Sad watching cfb just absolutely nuke what used to be the best regular season in sports.

BCS, then 4, then 12, then 28, then 32… when is it enough? CFB is starting to remind me of these popular movie franchises that get bought up and turned into infinity sequels. At some point, it’s just not the same.

Worse idea than the big 10 being coast to coast

Why have conferences if that happens?

Sounds like a god awful idea that will kill interest in the sport from Sept-Nov.

Which means it will happen. And the Colin Cowherd’s of the world who don’t even watch CFB will celebrate.

One more nail in the coffin for the NCAA. I am just waiting for the one BIG school to go tell the NCAA to go frick themselves when they try and penalize them.

100%. Nick Saban has been totally vindicated on his statement a decade ago that the sport needed a commissioner to protect the sport’s integrity. Whether or not this would’ve been feasible with conflicts of interest is up for debate, but this timeline we’re on has been a disaster.

This is basically what just happened with Michigan.

What these stupid fricks don’t realize we already have this it’s called the regular season. Conference championship games are essentially the first round of playoffs.

Go back to 10 team conferences, round robin, no conference championship game and make it either 8 or 12 playoff. Anymore than that cheapens the regular season.

Can’t wait for the Big Ten bros to come in here and defend their boy Pettiti. Pettiti could get caught on video shooting puppies for fun and the Ohio State and Michigan fans on here would justify it by saying “well the SEC should play 9 conference games then!”
