Despite looking exactly like a vintage Bond villain Christian von Koenigsegg can flat out build a car. We have gone from super cars to hyper cars but this thing needs its own category.

Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut:

Top speed of around 316mph, weighs just over 3000 pounds and makes 1250hp and over 1000 pound ft but 1600hp on E85. Note that 1600hp comes from a mere 5L engine. Granny Clampett knew a little about making horsepower with the corn squeezin's. Imagine what the truck could have done had Jethro cyphered the advantages of quad turbos on the jalopy.

Older gearheads will know that 12.4 seconds was famous time for the 427 Shelby Cobra to go 0-100-0. This long stood as a benchmark for highly capable cars. It nzotook 38 years for a production road car to beat that mark (though it was not a standard test) with the Ferrari Enzo. For a production road car to get to 250 and back to zero in barely twice that time is mind melting. BTW the 0-250 time was 17.18 seonds.

Note the Absolut is the high speed version of the Jesko, they make the Attack which is more track focused. The Absolut will set you back $3.4m and the Attack closer to $3m.

Skip to 1:40 is you only have 26 seconds to watch

If I put up $5,000, and you put up the other $3,395,000 bro we totally could get one of these and cruise around and be 50/50 partners in.

That's mind melting fast, if you watch the video it looks like he hits 400/250 and goes a little over/holds it there for 2-3 seconds before hitting the brakes. That's insane.

The reason it's 250-0 is so quick is because the car is in a rush to the mechanic

Maybe we could time share it with OT guys. For the Absolut we would only have to sell 680 shares @ $5000. We could each have it for 12 hours a year plus our share of insurance, maintenance, and repair.

As an aside the doors would make Russ Hanneman very happy.

I didn;t dig into that but I am guessing the pause was to settle the chassis before hammering the brakes at 250 mph so the rear to front weight shift wasn't as dramatic.

Where the F did this sentence come from? Am I missing some context?

What's more crazy than the speed is how smooth that was.

Speaking of, I'd seen recently there's a company or two acting as a bit of an investment firm trying to get people to buy small shares into supercars and hypercars and rare exotics that they plan to eventually sell and you'll get a return on your investment. You can't drive the car, probably can't even go and see it, this seems like the next scam where you find out you're out your money and have funded some car collection to some foreign LLC that'll ride off into the sunset. I can't find it now but saw they were recently hyping a 14% return on a Countach they'd bought/sold.

In a bizarro 2025 way it kinda does. When things are just fantasies, zeros don't mean much.

Found it, MCQ Markets is the company.

This reads like one of those things where you buy a star, or a misc piece of land in Scotland so you can call yourself a lord or something. They sell of ~1/2 the valuation in shares, this feels like you're just funding some dudes car collection.

How it Works

quote:

We Curate Each Asset
Collectible, super, and hypercars are specialist investments. Through our network of car dealers and relationships with collectors, and using our proprietary selection process, our experienced team of curators sources the assets we offer on the platform. We then enter into an Asset Purchase Agreement for each asset, completing the purchase of each asset with proceeds from the applicable series offering.

quote:

We Make it Investable
We house each asset in a separate entity – a series of our series LLC corporate structure – for which we file an offering circular with the Securities and Exchange Commission, (the “SEC”). Once qualified by the SEC, we are able to offer you shares associated with the asset, making it something you can actually invest in.

quote:

We Sell the Asset
We'll hold each car for a period of time, and if or when management decides it is an advantageous selling point based on the market and a number of other factors in the discretion of management, we plan to sell each asset through auction or private transaction. Proceeds would then be distributed to investors, (if any, and net of taxes and fees) in the manner set forth in the applicable offering circular.

Impressive - all from a 5.0 liter flat-plane crankshaft V8. The pre-spooling turbos, triple injectors, and a solid billet steel crankshaft are a nice touch.

Power output on E85 ~ 1,600 hp (not too shabby)

It still won't outrun a police radio, but it will give it one hell of a workout.
