They said yesterday that he was beginning to get more consistent reps with the 1s. Aaron Anderson being out probably helped with him getting more time with Nuss.

Irrelevant 5/6 will play regularly and get dbl digit catches . I like spreading it around.

Yes hes getting first team reps but hes not technically listed as the "starter".

I would expect him to have 5-8 targets a game and probably somewhere in the 20-30 snaps range. Lots of rotating at the WR position will occur.

Will be interesting how they deal with the WR depth. There seem to be 6 guys in line for serious playing time. Can't remember a year with that many going into the season where it's hard to point at any of them and say "that guy probably won't play much". I think you could say that for Jelani Watkins and Destyn Hill, but not for:

N Anserson
A Anderson
Hilton
Zavion
Brown
Parker

I honestly don't care who they slot in at WR even a guy that's forgotten like Thomas seems to be consistently tearing it up in camp.

With the rb depth concern, I wouldn't mind Z. Thomas getting some traditional rb touches out of shotgun rb. Seems like the majority of his touches have all been gadget type touches.

Then also Treydez Green will get a bunch of passes his way.

Didn't Kelly cuss Sloan out for trying something like that when we're not running well enough?

That's always the initial plan, but often 2-3 guys emerge as the key targets. Anderson is unique in that he has the size most of LSU other WRs don't have. Aaron Anderson and Zavion Thomas have similar size and skill sets. Brown and Hilton are somewhat the same. Nic Anderson is a big outside WR who could create matchup issues different from what the other WRs can create.

It doesn't matter, all WRs will rotate. The room is too talented to keep them off the field, look for freshmen to get some playing time.

I have seen him in person. He is thin but he is very tall

While not as fast as Brian Thomas, that's the same profile of BTJ at LSU.

Seems like all the camp reports are saying Destyn Hill is catching everything. Would be interesting to see if they cant find a spot for him. Also with Jelani Watkins having olympic speed they gotta find a use for him somehow

Everybody can’t play
Aaron Anderson
Barion Brown
Nic Anderson
Chris Hilton
Zavion Thomas
Kyle Parker
Destyn Hill
Jelani Watkins
Kylan Billiot
4-5 of those guys are going to be unhappy. It’s a ridiculous amount of talent and ability in that room.

Brown, Aaron Anderson, and Green will be our top 3 in targets this year.

Thomas also and 2 very good pass catching TEs, if OL gives time they gonna be good. If not should be 7on7 SEC champs.

He is going to play but there have been 4 receivers who have just had better camps thus far. Hilton, Kyle Parker, Barion Brown, and Zavion.

It really looks like Hilton, Barion Brown, Aaron Anderson, and Kyle Parker are going to be your top 4 and then Nic will rotate in and Zavion will be used as a gadet piece. Also look for Tre'dez to be used a lot. This team has a lot of weapons offensively and very likely each game is going to have a different leading receiver depending on what the defense chooses to take away.

I just have this weird feeling that Hilton and Barion Brown are going to have a big first half against Clemson which could open things up for Tre-dez Green and Aaron Anderson in the second half along with the running game with Caden.

________

Can say the same about "man-child" Taron Francis. He has done well in his limited opportunities.

I doubt it because zavion Thomas always gets positive yards out the backfield. Sloan didn't use him enough there.

That's an easy wrinkle he should go to 3 or 4 times a game. So many things you can do with him.
