Always thought GATTACA could be improved with an intelligent remake. It’s an interesting movie that’s just missing something.

Definitely one of the most consistently overlooked masterpieces. The cast, the acting, the story, the cinematography, the thought provoking nature of it, everything is A+.

The ending is really beautifully done as well. Also love the score. One of my favorite underrated movies.

It does capture that vibe of the great scifi novels (Brave New World, Stranger in a Strange Land, I, Robot, etc.) better than almost any other film.

We swam across the Tennessee River in high school. You start getting pretty nervous when you are near the mid point.

I agree it is underrated but there’s a reason for it. The world isn’t immersive enough and the murder mystery part was lacking. The immersion aspect is what I meant by updating it might improve it. Someone like Villeneuve could pull you into that world.
