I have given up on "reading the tea leaves" from practice reports.

Maybe its my age, but to me, it seems that for many years, we hear about how great one side of the ball will be in fall pratice, how they dominate the other, only to believe this will translate to onfield performance in the Fall, only to be disappointed. The one case where that was not true, was the Burrow fall camp prior to the NC run.
But, I am reading the same things you are today,,,...problems on the OL, inability to run, too many hiccups, defense dominant. But, that does not mean our O will be less than average or the defense is tremendous.
I think these reports are like the stock market. It is not wise to invest based on a few days of ups and downs. Tomorrow we may hear the Off gets the best of the D. Its also like stopping a movie on one scene and trying to predict the ending.
So, for now, I am at a stage that I will await any judgement until the first game or two to really see how far this team has come and how good they will be. Practice reports to me are interesting to read, and are second hand reports from individuals letting us know what they see. But, coaches may have a different take and perhaps its good we know now what is NOT working.
So, just sayiing I enjoy the perspectives from camp from media...but, they wont' ruin my day just yet

USC beat our arse after all the bullshite last year. To get out manned by those fricks…

I was there it wasn't an arse beating but yes, we weren't as advertised or thought
At the same time we had a rookie starting QB

Why should anything anyone reads about any team “ruin your day” . It’s all bout creating content. It doesn t take anyone telling me we pretty good on O and look to be better on D. Flip the fukin coin already willl ya.

Yea, it was the lines that disappointed. When you’re a junior, rookie kind of goes away. LSU should win that game…but I’m a homer.

It is easy to read the tea leaves on here: Nussmeir has a serious knee injury, Van Buren is terrible, the OL is terrible, the OL coach is terrible, Sloan is in over his head, Kelly can't coach, etc.
That about sums it up.
That about sums it up.

Respectfully disagree, he hadn't started a full season, he had no significant time being behind Jayden

We won't know what we have until about halfway through the season.

I respect what a college QB has to do. Unreal ask really. Hope he kills at Clemson.

The third game will. UF is an SEC team again.

Less to do with age and more to do with wisdom. It's just that the former facilitates the latter. Once you realize that the preseason hype is based on absolutely nothing, and you become jaded with the repetitive yearly cycle of truly meaningless talking points, then it becomes easier to disengage, enjoy, and let the cards fall where they may.

I gave up on practice reports after the 3rd fall camp in a row that Jordan Jefferson was averaging 250 yards passing and 4 passing td's per scrimmage.
It was amazing. That guy's passing stats in every scrimmage were better than the best actual games he ever played.
It's almost like it was complete bullshite.

Kelly gives the media WAY more access than the previous staffs.
So….its an indictment on your local media if the team comes out with anything but a talent advantage against every team not named Alabama, Clemson, and possibly Florida. Coaching will decide those games in my opinion too…
Your football “experts” in the local media have been given a ton of access and are all singing basically the same tune.
We will see…

right. too many buy into the BS each preseason and get worked up emotionally when they do not have the whole context or full info of what is going on. Always remember the "other" team is practicing hard also. They are prepping also. they have good players also. They want to win also.
Most stuff that comes out can be disinformation or be jaded. Ever since post 2011 i pay no attention to any pre season crap. the last time we had a real source tell us wtf was going on was back in 2010. lsub was an ex o lineman for LSU. he is the one who said we are done with crowton because JJ could not run the offense like gary wanted in 2009. anyone who knows football could see that in 2009. miles took over in 2010 to 3 yards and a cloud of dust bo/michigan ball. and that is exactly what happened. toss dive city. 68% runs that year. crowton was a lame duck that year and he left after 2010 for obvious reasons.
CBK has so much to prove i expect the worst and hope for the best.

Redshirt Junior at that too.

Yea, more is expected. He can totally make up for it though…hope he does.

Sarcasm detector is activated. But in reality, this is the best approach to a new season. Our Oline against our Dline has never been a good indicator. Same for WRs and DBs.
Long offseason, so much change in roster and admin/coaches. The only thing that will answer the question about this team is lining up against Clemson and knocking them on their asses. Then repeat again and again for a season.

So far I would say the practice reports are what everyone would expect. Nothing really to criticize yet.

And…. USC started long time back up Miller Moss. What’s your point?
We didn’t lose to USC last year because of Nuss. We lost, because we flat out couldn’t run the ball and couldn’t stop USC when we needed to.
