They basically rented the mansions and filmed there for a week

MTV has been fake for a very long time.

Didn't they do an episode at Master P's house in CCL?
Posted on 8/10/25 at 10:23 am to Clames
This was MTV, everything that came later was garbage.

MTV went to shite when they started doing "reality TV". It was awesome when they did the top 20 countdown after school.

How are you just learning this?

I remember avidly watching TRL in the early 2000s trying to impress this girl I liked at the time. She was one to keep up with that type of stuff so I needed some material to use in casual conversation.

But the Scarface posters were real

Dale Earnhardt, Jr. episode wasn’t fake. That was his actual home.

Pretty sure the Method Man episode was 100% real.
"and over here is the de las casas kitchen"
funniest and best episode in that whole series.

2005 was 20 years ago, bro. Live in the present.

You could pretty much tell who was fake and who was real.
For some reason I always remember the Sisqo episode. Dude had an absurd estate with Greek statues and shite. I thought to myself no way this dude got this wealthy off the Thong Song.

Hate to break it to you, but most of the shite on HGTV and DIYC are, too.

I doubt most celebs want their house on tv especially these days

Everything on television is fake.
Once you realize that, you'll be much happier.

The sad part is that I was almost 30 in 2005

All I know is that when Chip and Joanna told one of their "clients" that it was going to cost $10,000.00 to dig a trench for a drain line for a new bathroom I lost it. I wouldn't let those grifting arse frickers build me a dog house.
