What are good hotels near MD Anderson in Houston?

Don't need fancy or luxury, just a safe and clean hotel for a family member having to get checked out at MD Anderson.

I've heard some hotels have shuttles to MD Anderson, so that would be a plus.

Thanks.

there are several in the medical center, but I have not stayed at any...only stayed at the Hotel ZaZa nearby....

I would do a Google Maps search for "Hotels near Medical Center Houston" and then narrow it down...there appears to be a wide range in choices...

Marriott at the corner of Fannin and Dryden is nice. Somewhat on the backside of the medical campus from Anderson but I believe they have a shuttle.

We stayed there a couple of years ago when we were doing some testing at Texas Children's.

Several good casual dining places within walking distance on Fannin as well. I know we ate at a MOD Pizza place between the hotel and hospital and it was good.

You are going to get destroyed on valet fees in most cases. Pay attention.

We have a friend that had surgery a couple weeks ago at MD and had to stay in Houston (lives in Austin) while recovering in case there were complications.

Check with MD, because they stayed at a "hotel" that is connected to MD and you get a better rate if you're a patient. I'll ask to see what the name is...

I also recommend The Rotary House. It is connected by sky bridge to the main hospital. We stayed there when my wife would go to her appointments. With the stress of everything it was nice having the convenience of just being able to wake up and walk across the sky bridge for her appointments.

We’ve also stayed at the Intercontinental and Hyatt House in the area and while they were both nice, safe properties, neither was as convenient as The Rotary House.

This is a link to some patient friendly pricing for the hotels in the area around MD Anderson. I hope this helps you out.

If you can, Rotary House is ideal. Owned by MD and operated by Marriott (I believe). Across the street from MD on Holcombe Blvd and connected via a cross walk.
