They have reopened after a short break as a BUFFET-ONLY restaurant and no longer offer the menu that made this place a true gem in BR.

The buffet was average at best and is $25.99 plus drink. $64 for two people to eat Chinese buffet :(

Pretty much exactly what I said was going to happen. Such a shame.

Were they not making money? They seemed to have steady customers coming in every time I was there.

Did the buffet have any of their previous menu items?

Lees Asian fusion is a busy but not relatively known gem in watson.

The owner is sweet as pie also.

not really, no.

It has all the fried foods and sweet and source red sauce, plus your standard shrimp/brocc , fried rice , vermicelli noodles with veggies, chicken/brocc, shitty snow crab legs, salad/veggies/fruits, general tsao chicken, green beans, terriyaki chicken sticks, etc, They also have a sushi bar to the side, but the desert area is WEAK and they dont have soft serve ice cream. I tasted the majority of items and give the quality and taste a 6/10 ; where I would rate the previous menu/system a 9/10. Even the spectacular monster bowl of authentic egg drop soup is gone and has been replaced with a serve yourself soup bucket filled with the same generic egg drop soup at every other Chinese joint in America.

Its not like they took their well-portioned cook-to-order delicious menu items and made a buffet out of them, that menu and offering is long gone.

Quite a bummer, as us Broadmoor folks had very few true dining gems to claim on this side of the city, and this one will be missed.

Also - the fortune cookie was stale and the message made no sense.

Overall: would not recommend 2/10. Have been raving about ASH since it opened and I hate to see it go... R.I.P.

Perhaps the new business plan is to attract a new client base.

I agree and was surprised by the change.

They have lost a loyal customer, but I wish them the best.

I agree. I certainly mean no ill will towards Lee's. We've been going all the way from Prairieville since it opened. Our kids are the same age as hers and we've always had nice conversations. She's super sweet... genuinely super sweet. I wish her all the success in the world!

We went for lunch today, like you said, it had your standard Chinese buffet offerings but at double or triple the price. Nothing was great and some of it was flat out bad. I don't see this place lasting long. It almost seems like this move to a buffet is a quick money grab before closing it's doors. I'm assuming they're aware there won't be many repeat customers and hoping to pull in some coin from the initial wave of business.

Went to the new ASH Buffet last night. $25..these people are delusional.

Pros: Fried Frog Legs, Chive Pot Stickers from old menu, Pork Spare Ribs, Pineapple Chicken, Mongolian Chicken, Garlic Eggplant, etc..

Cons: Not the same chef in the kitchen that brought you that Yang Chow Fried Rice, Basil Beef, Hot Pot Soups of former, bland overcooked Chicken on a Stick, bland sushi bar, etc..

Not on par with Oriental Pearl which is much cheaper, and has better Sweet Sour Soup, Chicken on a Stick, Fried Shrimp, Garlic Sauce Medley, Crab Rangoon, Pepper Steak,etc..

P.S. Go try the Dragon Fried Rice at Pho Huyn Danh, ask for a second Fried Egg and extra Jalapeño. Or a trip to Chai Thai-Lao for the Drunken Noodles,etc..for the same $20 spent instead of a disappointing buffet.

BR..Chinese dining wasteland for a metro it's size. The long rides out to Lee's Fusion continue. And it doesn't totally wow me, just the best we have, along with a few PFChang dishes.

I'm not expecting NYC, NO, Phi, Hou, LV, LA, SF, Port, Vanc,etc..But, growing up in Tara, when MK Wong's Chinese Inn on Airline had my younger self assuming that was just the norm..and not exceptional fare that I later realized rated with the best. I thought if Hammond/SLU had Trey Yuen, and South Carrollton had Five Happiness..then good Chinese just grew on trees. Wrong!

Go to Chengs and order off of the traditional menu. It’s not as good as Omi was, but it’s very good.

I've been to Cheng's a few times, but not since 2022 when just opened, thanks for the reminder.

Loved Omi's Ant Climbing Trees,etc..

That location is brutal.

Thanks for this. I looked at the Cheng’s menu when they first opened and only saw standard American Chinese dishes, so I wrote it off. We went yesterday and had a great meal. I took a picture of the “chefs menu “ since I couldn’t find it anywhere online.

My favorites on that menu are the "Five Species Crispy Pork Rib", followed by the "Hofen with Frank Steak"
