Comparing new 3rd Row SUVs: Jeep Grand Cherokee L vs. Kia Telluride vs. Chevy Traverse

inb4 too poor to pay cash/buy for fully loaded Yukon Denali to travel with Braxtlynsen and Jacysyntyn Mariyee to travel ball/cheer competition
Looking at vehicles now so that when interest rates (hopefully) drop hard in the next several months, ideally before the year is over. These are the three we've narrowed our choices to. Lots of 2025s on sales right now before the 2026s start rolling out. I am slightly leaning on the Grand Cherokee L since the price on some premium trim versions are getting substantial price cuts, although I have never been a fan of CDJR vehicles. I've seen a lot of Tellurides on the road and have a few friends that have purchased them, but I am having trouble shaking the feeling of driving a Kia. My family has purchased Chevys for years (not me personally) and they seem to have the same problems as any American car.
At some point I know I will have to upgrade the go cart with windows and deal with a car note. Just curious if anyone has any of the current year vehicles mentioned and their thoughts on overall reliability.
NOTE: $40k is where we want to be at for price

Traverse is the easy answer in that group.
Did a family trip in a 2025 Traverse a couple months ago with my wife's cousin. They traded a 2023 Grand Cherokee L for it. The Traverse is infinitely better.
tOT will rain downvotes for not recommending the Kia, which is hilarious

Pathfinder has 0% for 60 months right now. My neighbor just traded her Escalade for one, no ragrets

Acura MDX or Toyota Grand Highlander
Both under 60k mid trim levels

I drive a Yukon Denali but rode in a Jeep Grand Cherokee and it was pretty nice. Seemed like a lot of value.
But I would never buy one because I have too much brand rigidity toward GMC.

Curious as to how did you narrow your choices down to 3 of the worst vehicles available?

Or this
Cheaper and more practical than SUVs

the Traverse is the largest and has the most room
We have a Telluride and have had no issues
We also liked the new Pathfinders
go drive them and see which ones you like the most

I would but the market in BR is shitty for minivans. Either get barebones or a fully loaded minivan that I will have a hard time negotiating down on price. The price for those are generally $50k+ and I'm seeing these SUVs mentioned under $40k which is our ideal price range.

I have a Nissan currently and I am not a fan of what I have for the long term, specifically because of CVT transmission.

Will update in op but trying to stay under $40k

Tellurides are so damn nice. Ever since Kia hired the Audi interior guy, they have been an absolute steal for gadgets and interior.

Always hated the Traverse.
The new ones are excellent. And I like that they have the Silverado Turbomax motor under the hood. That’s an excellent engine by modern standards.
IMO the Traverse is the obvious choice. Blows my mind how much you get for the price with that thing.

Pathfinder doesn’t have a CVT anymore.

We have one. Summit Reserve '24. We had a major issue with the keyfobs straight up not working suddenly and had to have it towed to the dealership like an hour away. The vehicle was just fricking dead and wouldn't respond. Sat at the dealership for 2 months, they flew in a Stellantis engineer to frick with it and he finally got it fixed.
It's incredibly nice, incredibly overpriced, but one of the best riding and driving vehicles I've ever driven as a family car. I have a love/hate relationship with it, but Mrs. Cotten LOVES it so I dealt with the BS when I wanted to lemon law it.

The Traverse is a pretty good vehicle IMO ever since the 2018 redesign. I think they should've kept a 6-cylinder option for the 2025 redesign but overall they're still okay.

My wife and I have been looking around at similar options.
Buick never crossed my mind but we looked at an Enclave (same size as traverse) and that thing was nice. Maybe a slight tick up price wise from the traverse but the base model Enclave is another option to look at.
We don’t need to pull the trigger anytime soon but also looked at the grand highlander and palisade.
