I have a cousin who was pissed that we signed Brees instead of drafting Vince Young. I argued that Brees looked good before his injury, he thought Brees' arm was done. I still bring our conversation up to him when I see him to this day.

no previous, current or future QB will ever step up in the pocket and throw like Brees did.

I thought we had signed another washed-up QB again. I have never been so happy to have been so wrong in all my life.

He really was a surgeon at QB until his arm went bad, he was just automatic with his accuracy all over the field, there will never be another Drew Brees IMO

Hey at least he got the Super Bowl MVP.

To me that's the more important one.

Even then he was better than 80% of the QBs in this league. Our standards for QB play had just been set so high. Drew Brees in a wheelchair would out duel Derek Carr any day.

Very true.

If you watch a replay of the Super Bowl, you are reminded of how great Drew and the entire team really were… it almost brings a tear to my eye. Everything was different in N.O. The day after the Super Bowl…

I remember being excited that we signed a young former pro bowl QB. Fast Forward to OTAs, me and my dad are sitting in the bleachers and Drew literally couldn’t throw the ball 30 yards. All his passes were ducks and no umph to them. I remember turning to my Dad and saying we made a huge mistake signing him.

Also at that same practice, a guy wearing number 2 dropped like 3 balls, and we joked how the number was cursed and how terrible he was. Number 2 turned out to be Marques Colston.

I feel blessed to have been a Saints fan during the Drew years. Once in a lifetime talent and he played for our team. A bright spot for sure amid all of the frustrating years before and hopefully the not too many frustrating years after.

The free agent signings and decisions on defense was criminal. Most of his time here they surrounded him with a bottom tier defense.

We should have several trophies.

He was the best at stepping up in the pocket. I miss those days like no other.

arguably the best ever at finding a new lane by moving around.

Top 3 pocket awareness in history.

We still owe Drew an apology for the terrible defenses given to him.... He should have several more rings. So lucky to have been there for that though.

I wish he hadn't bent the knee to the wokesters, only blemish on his legacy.

He was respecting his teammates’ point of view, although he made it clear that he respected the flag and Anthem

Imagine if his arm hadn't forced him to retire a little early. Drew might own all the top QB records.
