Washing Machine Recommendations

I's really frustrated with our Maytag 5.2 cubic foot top load washer.
Got an error code F2E2 which indicated a loss of communication between the controls and the main control board. Most common failure is the main control board. The part is about $225 with the core exchange of $60.
The electronics were only warranted for 1 year! The motor and transmission for 10 years. This machine is 13 months old! After researching a little, it is very common for this part to fail just after a year. There are probably enough people to organize a class action lawsuit like the LG washers had. Shame on Whirlpool/Maytag!!! They know exactly what they are doing and it is scandalous! May get it fixed but we are looking at SpeedQueen.
Any recommendations and experience is greatly appreciated.

I have had a Speed Queen washer and dryer for 10-11 years. One really minor issue with the washing machine that required a $20 part to fix a small leak, but other than that, zero problems or complaints. Would buy again in a heartbeat.

I recently bought the Speed Queen set.
The washer is very loud at times and annoying. I'm sure it will last a long time, but I may have bought something else if I had known. Sounds like a laundrymat.

Not to hijack post , but has Speed Queen quality dropped in recent years?
We’ve had 4 separate issues with our dryer needing repairs. I don’t think any chance in hell I’d choose this brand again.

i think there were some issues in the late teens so they reverted back to the previous design. i bought in 2020 and it was right after that.

Bought our SQ washer and dryer in August 2024 and both are fine.
I learned the hard way that the ECO/Normal cycle does not do a full rinse. It rinses the clothes during the spin cycle. It was fine for over 6 months and one day bubbles appeared from the drain tube.
And before anyone comments "you're using too much soap", we only put up to line #2 on the tide cap in each wash. Watched several videos and it's apparently a known issue.
So now we just run every cycle on heavy duty which is a full rinse cycle with high speed spin or permanent press which is a full rinse cycle with low speed spin.

Sometimes a wire gets frayed between the boards but 99% of the time the fix is too replace the contol.
Yes controls are expensive. A major issue i see ask the time. If he pressure sensor. On older machines is a stand alone part like $30. On newer maytag/whirlpools its part of the $200 control board.

Convinced my wife to look at the Speedqueen and if the saying Happy Wife = Happy Life means anything to you. We had a 5 year old Maytag that had 2 mother boards in it and needed another...The two were under warranty parts were going to run 300 and labor another 200...So we bit the bullit and spent the 1300 on the Speed Queen....Happy Life. Try Brandons in Amite for the purchase as he is a Speed Queen sales and service savant.

Update. My local service guy came out to take a look. He wiggled some of the ribbon cables and wire connections around and the dang thing started working! He’s not sure where the problem was. Will see how long this lasts. Our machine was assembled in Mexico.
Speed Queen will be our next machine. Thanks for all the info!
