What’s the football programs official stance on Kyron Lacy going to be?

Obviously a terribly tragic situation. The kid made a horrible decision and mistake that led to someone’s death, that’s a part of it. Then whatever was going on in his head when he took his life, extremely heart breaking all the way around.

Will the program look back fondly on his contribution? Ignore him altogether? Use his story as a warning to others?

Honestly I still don’t know how I feel about the whole thing.

He's gone. Official stance?

He will be mourned, as he should be.

I think a legacy that would do some good is to use him as of an example of a superb player on the field who couldn't handle life off the field.

Right next to Ryan Perrilloux.

Why so many downvotes? Is this topic off limits?

He was accused of a crime, but never found guilty. Whether you think ultimately would have been is up to you.

I’m sure LSU will acknowledge his death and have some sometime of in memoriam moment during a home game. I don’t think the program will formally display his number, like a sticker on the helmets or patch on the jerseys. How his former teammates choose to reflect their rememberance of him or not will be up to them

Because it’s kind of stupid question and the point is moot anyway.

He was mourned by his teammates. What “official stance” are you looking for?

It was a horrific tragedy from start to finish. That’s the only stance needed.

I don’t know that’s why I asked. So your opinion and I guess this boards is that we move on and forget he existed?

No one said that.

I’m sure they’ll move on to the business ahead like most people should.

Clearly you haven’t.

They had his jersey hung in his locker for awhile in memoriam.

I got a tattoo of him doing the shotgun blast celebration on my inner thigh. Its the best way i know how to honor him. I blame BK for not getting him more involved

Maybe a quick pre game tribute before the first home game. Kyren had no shortage of TD celebrations .

Would be cool to see imo..

Other than the letter of condolences to all parties which it probably sent out at the beginning, I don't think the program, or the school needs to have an official stance.

It’s actually an interesting question and it would be fascinating to be a fly on the wall in the PR department while they decide how to handle it. On one hand you have an extremely good player who was pretty likable on the field, on the other hand he didn’t have it together at all off the field and violently killed himself while he was undergoing a trial for murdering someone. There are people who make a living deciding how to handle situations like this going forward and it’s an interesting case study in PR because it’s such a crazy, polarized situation.

It’s amazing that we have the internet in the palms of our hands to connect us with everyone on Earth and it’s not even fun to go on forums anymore because Karens like you take every opportunity to virtue signal and pretend you’re coach-speaking on ESPN to millions of people while you sit on Tigerdroppings completely anonymously. You’re not Brian Kelly bro, you’re allowed to ask questions and speculate and be yourself. The upvotes you got for your non-answer and attempt to completely shut down discussion are imaginary and you’ll never be able to redeem them for more money, a hotter wife, or a bigger wiener.

My thought as well

The kid is only looked at glowingly by this fanbase because of the way he died. If he were still alive we wouldn't care, at least half would shite on him for his alleged crime and the program would distance itself from him.

Seems like you guys are back to “business as usual” and want to forget he exists
