Daughter (no pics) will be a freshman at UA Fayetteville this fall.

Looking for the tigerdroppings OT Lounge equivalent message board for people local to UA.

Trying to track down a good local mechanic shop as I won't be able to service her vehicle from 10 hours away.

TIA OT.

If you have Facebook, there’s a group on there for incoming freshman that the parents use for all types of questions.

How much vehicle servicing will she need? Did you send your daughter off to college in a hunk of junk?

Go get a burger and some brew at Hugo’s when you take her up there.

It's a 2018 F150 with 80k miles so not a hunk of junk in my opinion. But will still need repairs on occasion I'm sure (it has so far).

We haven't had good luck with dealers in general so outside of warranty repairs and maintenance I've always handled.

PS: Don't be a dick.

I see. A Ford. Yes-finding a local repair shop is a good idea.

2018 F150 80k Miles Value

A 2018 F-150 with 80,000 miles can be a decent truck, depending on its maintenance history and condition. Many owners report that with proper care, these trucks can last well beyond 200,000 miles.
For example, one user mentioned that their 2018 F-150 with 131,000 miles runs great, although it burns a quart of oil every 2,000 miles.
Another user noted that their 2018 F-150 with 97,200 miles has had no major issues and is reliable.

However, it's important to consider potential issues. Some 2018 F-150 models, particularly those with the 5.0L engine, have been reported to have problems such as oil consumption and transmission issues.
For instance, one user shared that their 2018 F-150 had a problematic window for the 5.0L engine between 18 and 20, where it used too much oil due to a new method of boring out the cylinders.

If the truck has been well-maintained, with regular oil changes and other necessary services, it can be a reliable choice. One user mentioned that their 2018 F-150 with 68,000 miles was worth the purchase, especially with additional features like a bedliner, bed cover, and new tires.

In summary, a 2018 F-150 with 80,000 miles can be a decent truck if it has been well-maintained. It's advisable to have a mechanic inspect the vehicle to ensure there are no hidden issues.

You aren't going to find an equivalent that is populated by college age kids-- sorry, but being on the OT is going to date you by decades.

SHe's better served by using things like facebook groups--- which are not all that fantastic either-- to find discord communities and the like for incoming freshmen.

As far as automotive care without being assholes goes, there are a couple of locations very close to/around the campus of a shop called The Greased Pig. They're very reasonable about demonstrating the need of repair, and are happy to try to explain things over the phone as necessary.

Hogville has an OT board called The Tavern.

There's a guy that owns a tune up shop in Fayetteville, he no longer posts on that site anymore. But he's a good guy. My boss is good friends with him and will take his stuff up there all the way from LR sometimes to let him work on certain things. Shop is called The Grease Pig Lube & Tune.

Kent sold his stake in the shops a couple of years ago, btw. He hasn't been involved in their day to day for three or four years at this point.

But you're asking for it, because you think going to dealerships was a good idea.

I think every SEC fanbase outside of LSU fans that has stumbled upon TD probably wishes they had an OT equivalent for their site but not sure anything else out there comes close. Case in point, Tidefans is an absolute joke for Bama fans.
