I would assume that he was probably given some type of promise to start either at the beginning of the year or shortly thereafter. If he is the starter at the beginning of the year, I would assume that they will bring him along slower and play to his strengths. He is the #1 recruit and what they had to pay for him was enough where you would think expectations are that he throws for at least 3,000 yards and has 20-30 TD's whether that is through running or throwing the ball. They have to go to Oklahoma and Nebraska in the first 4 games so he may have a little bit of a bumpy beginning. You would certainly think that at least making the playoffs would be the expectations in the first 2 years given what they paid to get him to Ann Arbor.

It’s Michigan. You get to play Purdue 11 times and then have to be ready for Ohio State. I think he will be fine

I’m curious, how much pressure should they put on a true freshman. You’re the one saying that there’s not enough pressure….what is “enough” pressure according to you?

Texas was a top 5 team and in the playoffs

Michigan was 6-6 and had some of the worst QB play in the country

He just needs to be slightly above average this year for them to be happy.

If he can consistently complete a forward pass, he’s an upgrade over what they had a season ago

They play one game a year. Just don’t completely piss down your leg and you’re fine
