Critics Consensus

With Liam Neeson's gravelly gravitas proving to be a perfect fit for Frank Drebin's deadpan buffoonery, The Naked Gun revives the original trilogy's daffy sense of humor like it never went out of style.

It’s probably more of an indication as to how bad things have gotten in Hollywood.

The trailer looked like there is potential for it being good.

Jahns and Stuckmann are both raving about it, saying it's near non-stop laughter, sometimes near tears. I can't wait.

Liam Neeson in a more comical role is definitely intriguing to me, but the Naked Gun style of comedy is basically dead these days so I'm very skeptical.

If they let Liam do deadpan comedy like his green grocer bit in this movie then I’m sure it’s going to have some real good laughs.

Kind of shocked.

Me having to tell my wife that I have to go to the movies and leave here with a 2 year old and a newborn for the 4th straight weekend:

Not trying to be a dick and I guess since I don’t have kids I am out of my element but is this really that big of a deal? For 2 hours? Not like you’re going out of the country with the guys for a week or something extreme .

I've also been on the fence about this movie, especially since David Zucker was originally involved and then quietly pushed aside when the project moved forward.

These early reviews are making me more optimistic, though. Hopefully, it's hilarious and audience scores are just as high.

The trailer looked decent. I'm probably not going to see it in the theater, but I'll catch it when it streams.

I mean I know Seth McFarlane got oversaturated in the early 2010s but he is funny.

I saw the original in theaters so I'll do the same for this one. Plus, my friend has a small part in it.

It kind of depends I guess. I don't like my wife not getting some sort of break. Believe me raising kids that young eats up nearly all your time and is exhausting. After a long day I want to help relieve my wife a bit. Our 2 year old is wild as hell and our newborn requires almost constant supervision due to health stuff so I try not to take advantage of leaving any chance I can get
